Recording Xbox One chat audio separately

    Recording Xbox One chat audio separately


    I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to record just the party chat audio on pc or the Xbox while playing on an Xbox One.

    I've looked around in both the Windows 10 Xbox app and the Xbox Console Companion app and can't seem to find a way.

    It doesn't seem to be possible to be connected to a party on both the Xbox One and the Companion app at the same time so I can't listen in on the pc that way.

    I have a pc video capture device that I'm using to record the game play video and audio, but I need the party chat recorded separately.

    If anyone has any ideas I'd really appreciate it.

    Hi There,

    There is no way to separate audio between applications when recording, it is recording audio captured from your default audio device set on your computer, unless you could some how separate the applications to use different audio devices it would record
    any audio broadcasting on your audio device.

    To be able to record party chat audio you will need an Elgato or anything external capture card as that will capture any audio on your Xbox (Party, Game, All audio)

    Thanks for the reply - however on my Xbox One I used to have game sounds through my TV and chat audio through my headset separately
