    Using the HDMI Passthrough on the Xbox One are we allowed to record Xbox 360 Games using Upload Studio?

    I was just wanting to know how I could record video using my Xbox 360 Kinect Sensor. And no, I am not talking about gameplay recording, but just regular recording. Like if I wanted to upload the video I shot onto Youtube. Thank you!

    A MESSAGE FOR MICROSOFT

    The Xbox One currently has this feature. You can record videos using the Game DVR feature. Then you can go to Upload Studio to mix the videos as you like (even using a backdrop if you're recording yourself). After you're finished and it's saved you can
    go to the Youtube app and upload that video to your Youtube channel.

    It does not record anything through the HDMI input. By the way, it is far from a pass through, I wish it had a power off pass through option though, that would have been nice for me anyways.

    I am not sure why they did not let us record anything we wanted, that feature would have been nice. I guess it would have made it easier to record and post bad stuff, but maybe they could have made it for personal viewing only like a DVR. For years I
    thought the next gen would work with a cable card or something, Its not like people would be able to keep recordings forever anyways when they run out of hard drive space. it would be nice to at least be able to downgrade my cable box if I wanted. HD DVR
    from Xfinity to X1 to Sony Receiver to Plasma TV. I have 3 of the same set ups in my house, I wonder how much my power bill will go up for sure having the X1's on all day and night. Then will the X1 stand up to being on so many hours, time will tell I guess,

    I'd assume that we can't record anything using the pass-through because it is intended for using TV with it and they don't want people watching porn in it, recording it, then uploading it for anyone to see.

    Mutant: Yes, I agree. I still think it could have been an easy fix for Xbox to not allow uploads from recordings out of HDMI Input.

    Hey Jason!

    Thanks for reaching out to us today. Game clips on Xbox are recorded, edited, and shared from the Game DVR feature associated to the Upload Studio app. The Upload Studio app is the only way to upload and share clips that you recorded from Xbox or Xbox on
    Windows 10.

    As of right now, I don't think there is a way to convert or transfer your recorded files that are captured using your internal graphics card. All clips are captured using the Game DVR feature and then edited and shared from Upload Studio.
