    Recording my Xbox's stream is not working*Please Help*


    When I do a stream, it works just fin but when I try and record that stream using Win-Alt-R or Win-G it fails to do so and says, "There is nothing to record. Play some more and try again." I am really sick of seeing this message. I have all of the boxes
    checked and Microsoft refuses to help so I don't know what to do. Thanks for a response.

    Need "in game chat" option back on xbox one!

    Oh and btw i dont use headset as of now. Waiting for better quality set to release. So my chats come through the Tv and they still are not picked up in any recordings or streams.

    Just you know.

    Also it is probably not an ability with Xbox's dvr being it is most likely a lower end capture device. So not even an update will fix this

    I NEED HELP!!! Whenever I click to start recording the stream it notifies me that "Their is nothing to record, please play some more and try again later." Why is this happening!?!?!? It used to work fine!!!

    Hello deathshot248,

    If you're attempting to use Game DVR to record, this feature will only work when in a game. Are you in a game when attempting to start this recording? If you are recording in game and still encountering this issue, try downloading the Beta version of the
    Xbox app (if you aren't already using it), and using the Report a problem feature to report this issue after encountering it.

    But.... I am currently using the xbox app provided by my pc. I do not know if it is a bata and where the Report an Issue button is. Thank you for your feedback anyways though.

    Hi Death,

    You can download the Xbox App (Beta) by going to the store on your PC and searching for "Xbox App Beta". Once you launch the beta app in the left NAV bar just click the smiley face and you will see the option "report a problem".

    Recording party chat in external hard drive clips

    Hello, Thebigmac5814!

    There is no way currently to record party chat on Xbox.

    There are work-arounds to record party chat and those include but are not limited to: third party recording software, streaming on Twitch or another streaming platform.

    Sorry, but it is not currently possible to upload console-streamed game videos. When you record a streamed game, the GameDVR video is associated with the Xbox app, not with the streamed game (because the recording feature doesn't know you are streaming or
    what you are streaming). Consequently it cannot be uploaded (Xbox Live knows that the Xbox app is not a game).

    I can't hear the sound from my mic when I make a clip

    As far as I know, it is normal for mic audio to not be included in recordings done through the Xbox.

    One of the ways I get around this, is I stream to Mixer, and then download the stream to my PC, edit said stream, then upload to youtube.

    You can also use stream labs OBS to record, but I haven't tested that feature myself yet.

    Mic not working through game streaming

    I don't know if this is the right thread to put this in but it seems relatable. The xbox app came with Win 10 and in it is a Xbox One Stream feature. I had an idea to record the in game chat of the game while playing. I started streaming and plugged in a
    headset but to my dismay the headset did not relay any voice. It appeared connected on the television/game and the mute button lit up but no voice would play through the mic. I tried plugging in the headset before running the stream but that just caused the
    stream to reveal the error message: "We couldn't stream from your console. Try again later.". It is kinda hard to record in game chat when you cannot talk while streaming. I am not sure if this is a glitch or a known programmed safeguard. If anyone has any
    info that could help please let me know.

    P.S. The recording application and the external mic used to record my audio were not in use when the above events occurred.
