Recording gameplay through steaming without a capture card?

Hiya, I was hoping someone could help me out with this. I make YouTube videos of myself playing PC games - I use a little video camera to capture me and I have software on my PC that constantly records the screen to capture gameplay. I've recently started
playing my Xbox One more though and wanted to also record videos. My internet isn't the best so I can't stream on twitch or anything, hence the videos on YouTube. I know most people usually buy a capture card or something like that. But I'm rather low on funds
at the moment and not exactly a tech genius anyway. I was wondering if there's a way to stream my gameplay visual and audio from the Xbox One over to my PC monitor, so that the software on there can record it as if it were a PC game. I didn't know if it would
be as simple as plugging in an HDMI cable from the Xbox or my TV to over to the PC monitor, or if I needed an app/additional software, or if it's just downright impossible and I need to buy a capture card. Could someone let me know if it's possible to stream
my gaming through to my PC? Thank you very much!

Hi there, do you mean recording your game play?

If so, no it's not illegal to record your gameplay. Whether that be through a capture card or just recording your TV with a camera.

 

Dazzle HD Capture Card question

I have a few questions concerning using a capture card with my Xbox 360 to record gameplay. Question #1, Will this capture card output videos of at least 720p for youtube? http://goo.gl/4fRfG (I shortened the URL). Question #2, Would I be able to record
gameplay through my computer and be playing on the TV at the same time? What equipment do I need to have it recording on my laptop that is near my Xbox and TV and to be able to record while playing on TV. I don't mind playing 480p on my TV or something if
it is recording in 720p at least.

Thanks for the reply, but I thought Upload and Game DVR captured 30 second clips only? I want to record 15+ mins of gameplay to upload.

 

I know my son records for longer but I think its max 5 mins

 

Yeah,5 minutes is the max.

 

Why not stream your xbox one to your pc via the xbox app? That's if you have windows 10 of course, if you don't then you can't do it. Poor internet makes no difference to this since you're not streaming through the internet, but through your local network.

If you can do this, just use recording software to record the image as shown on your computer, with video overlay if you want that.

 

As above, launch xbox app on Windows 10, and stream from xbox to pc, then use fraps or something similar to record it
