"Record That" Without Kinect

So since they are going to be selling the Kinectless Xbox Ones now, does that mean the people that buy them won't be able to record video clips? Or do you think that they will add a controller shortcut of some kind?

I personally hope they do add controller functionality just because i'd rather push a button to record stuff rather than yell at the tv across the room all the time x)

"Xbox record that".....

Has anyone tried recording any clips by using the voice feature?I was playing rivals, alone of course...,like most cant get any games to join in.

Anywho i said "xbox record that".... it popped up in the corner that it heard me but nothing was there when i look in the upload studio/My clips section. its suppose to record the last 30 seconds when using the voice feature.
i tried this on ryse & it works perfect, didnt know if anyone else has tried with rivals ?

 

Xbox "Record That" Issue

Lately I have been playing Battlefield 4 and have missed out on some epic gaming moments because the "Xbox Record That" function is only getting 1 second of game footage. This just started happening within the past 2 weeks. I had no issues prior to this.
Is there any fix for this?

 

A software update is in the works to make features like you mentioned available for XB1 owners without Kinect sometime before the Kinect less SKU, hopefully.

 

This makes me laugh... "I want Kinect functionality without the Kinect..." Seriously? I know MS will kowtow to every customer they have to but really? Next thing you know people will complain they cannot Skype with the Kinectless SKU and insist a camera
be added to the controller/console.

 

I really hope they don't. Let the Kinect owners reap the extra cost benefits. Let the anti Kinectites have there boring, kinectless console. Then they can spend a extra $160 to get the Kinect.

Personally I just press F9 on my keyboard and record with FRAPS. Much more control on the PC.

Though if I did want to record on a Kinect-less Xbox One, I can buy a Kinect 2.0 for £20, that's around $33. That's second-hand but it'll do the job.

 

Microsoft have said they will be updating the Xbox One UI for users who have a Kinectless bundle, but maybe Microsoft will still require the Kinect to use Upload Studio - doubt it though.

 

It's not a kinect feature if it can be done simply with a controller. Restricting it would be pandering to cry babies who wanna justify their kinect bundle purchase. Sorry bros MS doesn't care about you, they care about money.

 

Id much rather have a button map (maybe both analog sticks clicked in) and i have Kinect, but MS is still to useless to add voice commands in New Zealand

I have the Kinect as well I just prefer buttons over voice commands.

 

Ha, I'm not surprised by some of the childish and petty remarks. People tend to feel bitter when they pay a lot for something and a cheaper version comes out. If someone with a kinect-free console has some features that the kinect version has, why would
someone have some unmentionable in a knot over that? Grow up!

 

I don't care about the money... I am not bitter. I feel it is a Kinect feature. If you don't have a Kinect it shouldn't be made available. But you are correct MS is in it for the money so it will probably happen.

 

Bizzaro, it is more the general principal of the matter. People wanted a cheaper console, so terminate the Kinect. Now, the same group of people want (expect) the same features without the Kinect. I wanted the Kinect with my X1. The features it offered appealed
to me. Those feature need to be Kinect related. There has to be some sort of incentive to buy a Kinect.
