Recon 50x headset compatible with Xbox one controller

Hi Roberto,

Since you state that you're able to use an original chat headset without issue but this one doesn't work I don't think it's an issue with your controller.

I was looking at the setup guide for your headset -

Since the mic can be disconnected from the headset, can you try and re-seat the mic into your headset and see if that helps?

Check the mute button on the headset cable.

Also, the Xbox One controller uses the same wiring standard that Android phones use. Can you plug your headset into an Android phone and test it there?

is it a 3.5 MM jack interface or with prongs?

Hey Beckymew : in order to help you with this we need to know what model of headset it is that you have.

The Audio picture indicates there's an issue as, according to Turtle Beach, you should be able to adjust those sliders which could indicate headset or controller issues.

To know for sure, we need the testing of another set of headphones in the controller as well as testing the headset with another debice, whether it's a laptop, PC or mobile phone.

As you are plugging the headset into the controller which is, in turn , plugged into the console, I am wondering if that is the issue...whilst the Recon 50x is designed to be plugged into the controller, Turtle Beach also say:

"Do not plug the Xbox One controller into a USB port on your Xbox One console while the headset is connected to the Xbox One controller"

Now, this may seem like a silly question so I apologise in advance: I know you linked to the headset earlier in the thread but you definitely bought the Xbox version of the Headset, yes?

You'll ideally want a headset that connects with a 3.5mm audio jack, that way you can simply plug it into your controller.

I`ve just been out and bought a Turtle Beach Recon 50X headset for my One X. Like the way all connections are in one jack plug connected to the controller, no cables across the floor to stand on.

And it is a great headset for the price, nice clear sound and very comfortable to wear.

Would definitely recommend them to anyone who doesn`t want to spend a small fortune.
