    How exactly did MS steal anything? The OP sent them the disc, the goons from MS didn't forcefully take the item.... there is way to much here -say in this situation. What proof is there that OP actually did have the game in the disc drive? It cannot be
    confirmed. For this reason MS has supplied shipping instructions that clearly break down what to do if you need to send your console back for repair (yes I know that if the console wasn't faulty to begin with this thread wouldn't exist). Many companies have
    the same return policy..... it is the consumers responsibility to understand and follow these rules. Unfortunately, it is easier to point the finger then to take responsibility for our actions.

  3. He wasn't pointing fingers and condemning MS. The kid just wanted his disk back. He probably saved all his Christmas money for Farcry 4 and when he eagerly went to play it, MS's predictably flawed console rudely ate his disk and wouldn't give it back.
    OP...use that as an excuse (faulty drive wouldn't eject disk) and call them again. Your game got stuck in the drive and you were afraid to pry it out.

    I'm not disagreeing that if the O.P. left a disc in the console it's his; I even think it would be nice of M.S. to return the disc if feasable. If it was "Ma & Pa's Fix-it Center" with a staff of two that worked on 3 consoles a week, I'm sure it wouldn't
    be a problem getting back his disc. Unfortunately he is dealing with a global corporation...things get lost. I work for a large company and just recently ordered a part for a customer; the tracking number said it arrived, someone scribbled what could have
    been a signature, yet the part I ordered couldn't be found. I ordered a new part and had it directly shipped to the customer. The original part I ordered was found in another department about a month and a half later.

    Once again, I, and surely others feel bad for the O.P. if he truly "lost" his disc. We're just saying the instructions on returns are their for a reason and consider it a lesson learned.

  5. ....I mean after all, isn't it against the MS warranty policy book to take a knife to the front of your console to pry out a trapped disk? Use their own rules against them to get your game back or at least some credit.

  6. wow, the lack of accountability people have is sad. its like leaving your cell phone in a store then complaining to the manager when they can't find the phone to return it. Its very clear that it says not to send back the discs or controllers or anything.
    Sometimes kids have to learn and be responsible. there are very clear instructions on not to leave a disc in the system. Customer service reps for all companies suck and constantly give bad information. were also taking his word that, he did get a customer
    service rep to say that. for all we know he could have called and complained and they told him they would try but can't promise or flat out told him they won't be able to retrieve it. MS customer service has been hit or miss for me personally. sometimes they
    do a great job, sometimes not. I had an issue where i was overcharged for a DLC due to an error by a few dollars, they refunded me the full amount of the DLC and i still got to keep it. I didn't even want the full amount, just the difference i was overcharged,
    but they said they can't do a partial refund and gave me a full refund for it. When MS charged me too much for live by reverting me off my old plan of 85 dollars for 24 months to a 60 dollars for 12 months, i called them and got a refund. I was unhappy about
    the charge with no warning they were changing my plan, it was pretty *** IMO, but they did refund me and i purchased a 13 month for 45 dollars off another website.

    at no point can a disc just get stuck. all disc treys have a manual eject and no you don't need a knife. just a paperclip

    even with a faulty system or drive, you can still get the disc out

    Well..... this thread just interesting..... it went from MS is a big evil corporation to lets lie about what is wrong with my console so I can get a free game out of MS..... (I think I could smell some sarcasm though bizzaro).......... and I highly doubt
    the poor "kid" worked all year to get a game.... probably more like "Mom, I want this.." (Just sayin.... )

    Let me as you this Silver.... On the warranty for a console it says if this sticker is removed by the screws gaining access to the inside of the console, the warranty will be voided. So the OP removed the sticker, disregarding the warning about the warranty
    void...

    Should MS repair his console then? even if all he did was remove the warning sticker

    I totally agree tat this game is returned. i have also made this mistake involving a diamond necklace and Miley cyrus's personal snap chat number and i demand their return as well!!

    at no point can a disc just get stuck. all disc treys have a manual eject and no you don't need a knife. just a paperclip
