Recieved a replacement console and forgot my game disc in the console that i sent back

Forgot tho remove the Disc before sent it to repair

I've sent my console to a repair station but i forgot to remove the game disc, what now???

 

Faulty kinect and now console in the first 2 weeks of ownership!

Just sent back a faulty kinect yesterday after I received my advance replacement and now today I've got disc read errors and none of my game discs can be read by the console. Add to that a nice circular mark around my Just Dance disc that was in the tray when I first got the error.
So, a faulty kinect and a faulty console in just over 2 weeks of ownership!

 

No argument, just telling it how it is. If you can't see the difference thats your problem not mine.

 

A purse usually contains sensitive, personal items (drivers license, credit cards, bank card....etc) It is still grandmas fault for forgetting it but yes I would contact the authorities and all credit providers.

Now forgetting a game in a disc drive before shipping your console back for repair and wanting to file a police report? Really? It's a game. Buy a new one and learn from the mistake.

 

Both errors , both resulting in loss of property , however 1 involves microsoft and therefore should be defended .

 

After filing the police report of the "lost" purse, it would be up to the "kindness" of someone to turn the purse in; she wouldn't have the to right to make complaints against the bus company for her mistake or expect reimbursement from said company.

Now if my grandmother mailed her whole purse into Revlon for warranty work on some bad lipstick...well it might be time to start looking into a nice rest home.

We are not defending Microsoft. We are pointing out the OP messed up by not following the directions for sending a Xbox off for repair. It's their fault 100%. Big difference when you have days to think over something and make an error compared to having
a few moments to get granny off the bus before it leaves for the next stop.

Grandma left her purse , which only contained $70 and some scumbag kept it , no the bus company is not liable , but the scumbag IS guilty of theft . She should report it ...yes .

The op KNOWS where his disc is , its his property , if I was in his position I would report it .

Why should he write it off , but grandma is entitled to try and retrieve her property .

 

Yep, and neither one stand a shot at getting them back ;-) Maybe granny needs to start taking a cab.

Someone forgot to like D33dles last post and help raise his cul .

I wonder what happened to the disc ?. Put in bin , handed into office , or taken home by the engineer working on the console ...

 

Of course he should try to get it back, and I'm sure M.S. would return it if it was as easy as,"Hey! Bob Jenkins left his disc in here. We'll mail it back.". The problem is M.S. is a huge corporation and it's probably next to impossible. I would bet the
"service center" processes more than just the X1; they probably repair other products as well...360, Tablets, P.C.s, Zune, etc.. And that's if the service center is 100% Microsoft; maybe they hire out repairs?

Grandma in a cab losing her purse has a better chance of recovering her purse than grandma on a bus full of a hundred people.

Now you take in account some people are "shady". Maybe the O.P. had a badly scratched disc that wouldn't play (Not saying he did.); maybe he thought that if he "forgot" the disc M.S. would just send him out a replacement or perhaps call back again and blame
them for scratching his disc. Come to think of it, the disc is probably all scratched up from being bounced around all the way to the service center.

because the Op was clearly told by MS "please make sure you take the disc out, we don't want it and won't be responsible for returning it". It really isn't rocket science.
