Recently store bought cd isn't being recognized

I am having the same problem. I tried playing a cd and it wouldn't recognize it. I tried uninstalling and then reinstalling the app. Even at 100%, the app wouldn't load. I uninstalled it again and tried to "purchase" it again from the store, but it isn't
available to download or "buy"

The solid red light means that the adapter is not being recognized. I've read that people have tried plugging it into a front USB port and it working. However, the lack of a driver CD is troubling. If it's possible I'd say take everything back to the story
you bought it and explain your problem. See if you can get a new one with the driver CD.

You can still rip CD's

Are you trying to rip a CD you bought or a CD you burned on the PC?

There are a few store bought CD's that will prevent any type of ripping...but i've only came across 1 before.

If you are using a CD you burned, did you burn this as an Audio Disc or as a Data Disc?

Data Disc will never work...so if you filled a disc with 700mb of MP3's, you wont be able to rip it. If you created a 70-80 minute audio disc, you should have no issues ripping.

I recently ripped 6 albums to my XBOX and they were all store bought albums but I did rip a few to a CD-RW because I dont like how the bonus tracks from a disc 2 will not be grouped to the original album.

yeah only store bought CDs work when it comes to ripping them to the 360, you could have a bad CD if it does not let you rip it.

I tried both USB and CD beforehand and it doesn't recognize the root folder or anything in it. The USB method should of worked at least since I think some CD formats are not recognized.
