Recently purchased Original XBOX and Xbox 360 games not appearing in Series S Library

Hi all,

i recently purchased two games from the Microsoft Store on my new Series S. One was an Original XBOX game and the other was an Xbox 360 game. Upon purchase, these games downloaded. When I tried to open either of these games, the error message "Are you sure you own this?" appears and I cannot play either game. Both games are in my purchase history as Completed. Neither game appears in my game library however and when I revist the game in the Microsoft Store it appeaes as if I haven't purchased it. I don't understand why my purchase history isn't being referenced by the game library but it's infuriating to download a lot of data only for both games to simply not work. I already requested a refund for one of them but that's not a soloution. Has anyone else had this issue and if so, what's the fix?

Some important information:

I'm signed in to the account that made the purchase. I only have one account and it's the only profile on the console.

I've tried restarting the console.

I've reset the Mac address in settings.

I've reset the console leaving my apps and games on the system with fresh settings.

I've reset the console to factory defaults.

I've removed the profile and redownloaded it.

Sadly, none of the above has worked.

The games are: Sonic Generations (Xbox 360) and Panzer Dragoon: Orta (XBOX). Also, just to confirm - my region has always been the same and the console region matches my account/purchases.

Also does yoir accounr region match your actual region if not that would be why

Hi,

There appears to be a bug/glitch on the console store at the moment where a number of games are showing 'not playable on this device' even for Series X|S consoles that can play all Xbox games. My advice would be to purchase the game via the website for now and then download it via your purchase library.

Dead Rising 2 off the Record was released for the Xbox 360 back in 2012, and is not backward compatible on the Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S. That is why it will not show in your game library. The page you linked to was for the Xbox One version of the game which was released in 2016. If you want to play the game on the Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S, then you will need to purchase the Xbox One version of the game.

Why not just purchase an Xbox One S if you want to play old 360 and original Xbox games on disk. As you said, your display is old, and does not support 4K, so purchasing a One S would probably make sense. Then later in the year, get a Series X or S if
you want to.
