Recently getting an error on Xbox and Destiny 2...

I've been able to play with a buddy of mine from the UK (I'm in the US) who is also on Xbox S|X

All of a sudden my ability to connect to him, invite him to games, connect to his party but the few times I CAN connect to his party- his microphone is disabled for me.

This was out of the blue, we were playing for weeks consistently, no issues whatsoever then, like I said, suddenly I can't interact with him at all.

I'm getting this error on Destiny 2 when trying to invite him to my fireteam

"sending fireteam invites to this user is not allowed by your platform communication settings "

(reminder we're both on Xbox Series X)

All the while I can however play cross-platform on Destiny 2 with friends from Playstation and PC.

Also, I might add; my NAT Type is Open, anytime I test it, it's Open. Idk if it's switching to strict or moderate as soon as I switch off of the Network settings or what. Like a scene from looney tunes when a character is trolling another character... I'm stumped lol

What I have done:

-Reset my router to factory

-Set a static Port for my Xbox

-Cleared my Alt MAC Address on the Xbox

-Somewhat accused my friend's internet for being the problem

-I have also checked and made sure ALL my privacy settings are set to Allow and not Block

Any help, really, would be incredibly appreciated.

Okay so I went ahead and just reset the console to factory, and still having the same issue

He says his NAT type is open, as is mine. He's not had the chance to do the mobile hotspot yet because I've not been on, and we only have this issue with each other, everyone else we can interact with inside Destiny 2 and outside of Destiny 2; on the actual Xbox social platform.

So, I'm not a professional but just by the way this looks, is it highly likely that it's an issue on his side?

And in the part of "Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows 10 devices Online Safety" set all features related to multiplayer, communication and friendship to "Allow".

If it won't let you log in to set up your account, there may be two reasons.

1. The date of birth of your account is underage, check it in this link:

2. You are a member of a family group, check it in this link

Ask your friend to verify that he/she has the same configuration.

Go to your network settings and in advanced options change the DNS to primary 8.8.8.8 and secondary 8.8.4.4

Restart the console and try again

If your NAT is open, you changed the outgoing port on the PC, you have the privacy settings right and you have changed the DNS then all possible causes of the problem are covered, ultimately you would have to reset the console to factory settings.

And what about the Xbox party issue that is also happening? That part isn't really Bungie related... I guess I'll have to find out about that part when I can get on next but I like to look into solutions to problems ahead of time
