    Recently bought a external hard drive, that my Xbox one won't read.. Help!?


    Recently bought a 1TB hard drive, after reading the reviews this works for Xbox one, however when I wire it up to my Xbox i cannot put games onto it. Ive tried all of the recommendations that Xbox support have given and none work, can anybody help?

    Hi, I have been having lots a problems with my Xbox one recently. It started with my controller not connecting and then it wouldn't connect to the Internet. After that it won't read my hard drive any more. As of right now my controller won't connect(sometimes
    it will) I can't connect to Xbox live and the Xbox won't read my hard drive. Please help I just lost 300$ worth of games. Thanks.

    Hi GOLD T0SSERS,

    Sorry you're hard drive isn't working with your console. Can you post the make and model of the drive? Check out

    this link     for external drive detection troubleshooting. Make sure that the drive is USB 3.0. If you've verified compatibility, one thing you may want to try is formatting in a Windows machine as NTFS, and then putting it in the Xbox console.

    External hard drive question time!.

    I used 2 external hard drives one 4TB one 2TB and the only issue I have 3 times is when I turn on my xbox. one of the hard drives is not read properly and won't show any games that on it but the console will still show how much memory is left. But I just
    have to take out the hard drive and put it back in and it fixes it.

    XboxOne stopped detecting the external hard drive

    I recently had the same issue. I was using a Seagate 1TB external hard drive. The xbox itself may not be the issue. It could very well be the hard drive itself. I plugged mine into another xbox, it did not read, also plugged into PC, did not read.
    Possible the hard drive may have crashed and may just have to buy a new one.
