Recent Windows Update Broke Compatibility Between My Xbox One Elite Controllers and a Game

I'm having trouble getting my Xbox One Elite controllers to work with Dead or Alive 5: Last Round. Up until the most recent Windows Updates, the game had only worked with the left trigger and not with the right trigger. Now, as of the March updates the triggers
don't work at all. Instead, the menu button and the view button have become the trigger buttons and the R3 button has become the menu button. I'm not sure if any other button became remapped. I'm using the default settings for both controllers in the Xbox
Accessories app.

Another problem is that when I have both controllers connected and I try to load the game, the game will not load and I have to close it's window. This as well didn't happen before the recent Windows Updates.

In Device Manager I noticed that the driver for XINPUT compatible HID device has been updated to 10.0.10586.122 from 10.0.10586.0.

I deleted my Windows partition and restored a backup of Windows 10 from about a month ago with the previous driver. I tried the game and things worked the way they had before. I then updated Windows, restarted, checked that the driver was updated and tried
the game again and ran into the same issues again.

I have the old version of the driver xinputhid.sys on my Windows 10 backup and I copied it to C:\Windows\system32\drivers replacing the file that was previously there. Even after restarting, the Device Manager showed that I was still using the newer version
of the driver. I checked to make sure that the older driver version was still in the aforementioned folder and it was.

I can't replace the driver with the Device Manager by trying to update the driver and there's no option to delete the driver when I try to uninstall it.

Is there any way that I can get Windows 10 to use the previous driver?

Difference between Xbox One Controllers

Hey, so I already have an Xbox One Controller for Windows. And design wise, it looks different than the controller that released with the X. What are the major differences between a first generation Xbox One (in this case for Windows) controller and the most recently updated controller?

Also, is it possible to use the Windows version that I have as a second controller for my Xbox One console? I know that it’s not BlueTooth capable, so it would probably need to be wired. But anything else?

 

Blinking power button while console is on

I came to the conclusion it is a synching issue between the controller and X1. It hasn't happened in a few months since I resynced my controllers. But it seemed to happened only with the controllers with out the 3.5mm Jack. My Elite controller and newer
one with the. 3.5 mm Jack. My older 2 controllers broke. The LB/RB buttons broke.
