Recent Halo MCC update

Greetings, after downloading the latest Halo MCC update (the Halo 4 PC and season 4 change) I've had many instances of being unable to successfully sign in to my console. The update in question was downloaded one week ago and
in that time there was only two instances where I and my wife were able to sign in and have access to my home page. When I attempted to load/play the new Halo update, we were given errors like: "You have to be connected to the Internet to play, please check
your connection and try again 0x800704cf" or something similar to 'can't find game, try again later'. I attempted to do resolve the first by checking my Internet connection in Settings and found it to be ok. Next, I tried the Network speed and statistics
and got back a 'not available' message or one with a high latency in the range of 138-146 ms. Prior to the update, my latency was running 18-22ms. Could there have been some 'dirty' data packets that came in with the download? Considering it's size, 41.5G
for me, it took about 12 hours to load. That seemed a lot even to me, and I'm not really a techie any more. Should I reset my console? Or should I dump the Halo MCC version then reset the console and reload the game? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
