Receiving strange Friend Requests from fresh Gamertags and 0 Gamerscore.

Hello,

I can't sleep for fear that these are hackers. I have blocked them all after sending the first one a message.

I've had 3 random Friend Requests in the last few hours from people who appear to have created fresh Gamertags with 0 Gamerscore and Silver (Free) Accounts.

I'm in the GMT (currently BST, which is GMT+1 aka Daylight Savings for the UK) Timezone and never give out any account details, ever, to anyone. I did recently reset my Windows Live ID Password, but now I'm worried and I don't want to turn my console off
in case something happens.

MS Support, please help. I really can't afford to lose my account.

Getting added on X1/sent friend requests on X360 by 0GS randoms

Nah,the gamertags are system generated,0 Gamerscore,no games played & just sending out friends requests.

Definitely not clan recruiting.

 

I REALLY want to change my gamertag...

So, I really want to change my Gamertag to 'Jawan' but it says the name is already taken. I'm pretty determined, so I go to friends, and send 'Jawan' a friend request. It shows me he has 0 gamerscore, hasn't played anything, and has no friends. If this account
is inactive and unused, is there some way I could have that gamertag?

 

It is almost impossible to hack your account, so you really have no worries there unless you give out your login details. Is it possible that these people met you in a game you were playing? I do have to admit that it is strange that they all have zero gamerscore.
Anyway, I doubt you have anything to worry about. Just decline the friend requests, and if you wish, set your account to receive messages from friends only for awhile. That should take care of random FR's.

 

Right. I last played ME3 online about 36 hours ago and none of them are listed in recent players.

And yes, it is very strange and concerning. I use an entirely unique alpha-numerical password for my Windows Live ID, and even though my account details from other sites have been harvested in the past, nothing apart from my e-mail address is associated
between those accounts and this one.

I did try to change over the e-mail account tied to my GT to my newer, safer, spam-free e-mail account, but they both have a Windows Live ID tied to them, so I'd need to create another e-mail address to shift things around.

Ah, one more thing, how do I set my account to receive messages from friends only?

 

Never mind. Found it.

Hopefully, if all goes well, I won't have to come back here.
