Receiving a game I did not pay for.

After being away from home for a few hours today, i logged onto my Xbox one and was notified that Dragonage Inquisition was and 2 of the games DLC were downloaded and ready to start.

I do not own nor have ever owned this game until this point.

Although I appreciate the game, I just want to make sure that I will not end up in some kind of trouble for having this game without paying for it.

As i was typing this Earthlock : Festival of Magic downloaded on my console. I DID NOT START THIS DOWNLOAD EITHER!

What do I do?

Never had a problem with my Xbox one, must of gotten a bad unit, call Microsoft and get a replacement.

It hasn't been used literally like that in a very long time. It simply means "a long time" these days. Feel free to search for it on the internet to verify like I just did.

 

Does anyone else use your console or has anyone else used it? That's usually a sign that someone else has your console set as their Home console. You would download anything they download.

 

Nobody else uses my console.

My roommate has his own, and he was the first person I asked, but he wasn't at home either.

Earthlock is a free game this month for Gold members, but especially for Dragon Age if you can see it under 'My Games' you will definitely want to check your purchase history:

If your console really is not set as someone else's "Home Xbox" then you will want to make sure you've not been charged or someone else has access to your account; in the case that a charge was incurred, speak to phone/chat support about it:

An account can't purchase a game/item on it's own. It needs to be signed in the console or on the website, then before proceeding with the purchase, the account needs to be verified first, or there will be a confirmation message, which can't go through without
confirming by the owner. I would suggest to sign in your account in account.microsoft.com>>security and privacy>>Recent Activity and see if the account has been accessed somewhere else. If you do not see any unknown sign ins, then the purchase occurred on
your console or household.
