Received preview version of Blu-ray app, but I'm not in the preview program

The other day I was surprised to see the Blu-ray app updated to include 3D playback when I put a non-3D Blu-ray in my X1. Turns out it's a preview build of the app that downloaded, but I am NOT in the preview program and don't have the accompanying preview
of the August firmware update. I want to go back to the normal version of the Blu-ray app as this preview version is not running smoothly. How do I downgrade back to the normal version?

Severe Tearing/Pixelation when playing Blu Rays.

Not sure if this is a symptom of the latest Blu Ray app release, but lately I'm seeing pretty severe tearing/pixelation when watching blu ray discs. At times I'm also hearing audio pops when the tearing becomes especially pronounced.

Any one else seeing this?

This is in the August Preview update, people in the program will get over next few days.

A full roll out will be in August to everyone.

Had you purchased a used console or sent your in for repair at some point? If so, perhaps the console you have now was registered.

In the meantime, see if you can post here to request that it be removed.

My console is the one I've had since midnight on launch day, never been registered for the program and I can't get into the forum you linked to probably because I'm not in the preview program and should never have been given this beta update. I wouldn't
have a problem with getting it early if the app worked perfectly but since it doesn't work perfectly and I'd like to watch some Blu-rays without stuttering it's a problem.

Hi DELTAprime, my blue ray player app is prompting me to start an upgrade as well. I don't have auto upgrade on in my settings but I thought it was strange that the blue ray app needed an update so close to the August roll out. Now reading your post has
me afraid to take the download. I notice every time there is an update for the Windows 8.1 or Windows phone music and video apps, there is one waiting on my xb1 as well. I know Ms has all of those platforms tied together somehow. But I shouldn't be receiving
random bluesy updates for no good reasons why.

 

I had the same thing happen to me. My app updated but I'm not part of the update program either. The Xbox plays some 3D movies alright, but for most of them they've been really choppy, completely unwatchable.

 

Hey, Delta. The Blu-ray app update is not a preview version. It is an update that was released to the general public. To enable 3D Blu-ray playback, you need this app update combined with the system update that is currently in Preview.

 

OK, well you need to let the people that answer phones at Xbox support know that this update is out there. They said it was part of the August update and I shouldn't have it yet.

 

The same happened with me. 3D blu-ray now works, but it's really choppy, making the movies unwatchable. Will this blu-ray app update combined with the august update help the movies run smoother? It would be nice to be able to put away the 3D blu-ray player
and just use the One for movies.
