Received Minecraft As A Gift but will not install as it says I already own it (PC)

I recently received Minecraft as a gift, however, when I try to redeem the gift it states that I already own the game and to go to my library.

I own the game on my XBOX but not my PC. I was trying to download it on my PC since Minecraft needs to be bought on different consoles.

Is there any way to fix this issue?

I believe you may have been gifted the wrong version of Minecraft (Xbox), and that's why the system is telling you that you already own the game.

If this game was sent as a gift through the Microsoft Store, I'd suggest asking the sender to:

- Go to their account's order history ( https://account.microsoft.com/billing/orders )

- Click on the game's picture, this should take them to the game's store listing page.

- Once on the game's listing page, they should scroll down to the "Playable on" section. If they see "Xbox One" and Xbox Series S/X". that would confirm you were gifted the wrong game.

Years ago I bought the Xbox version of Minecraft. Now I have Game Pass Ultimate & its not on PC version of the pass & never bought the PC version on any storefront. Now when I look at Windows 10 store it says Install or Buy to Own. Do I have Minecraft
on PC or not? I dont wanna buy the game again if I already own it on PC, especially when I already own it on console.

I'm on Windows 10. In addition to what's already listed, I have now backed up my files, deleted .minecraft, and downloaded the installer from minecraft.net again. Now I can't even install the mc launcher. I can download the installer. But when trying to use it, it tells me "Looks like something went wrong. We weren't able to install the app (0xUnknownAppInstall)."

Then I uninstalled Minecraft completely from Apps & features and restarted my PC. I still receive the same error when trying to use the installer from minecraft.net. In the Microsoft Store, it shows that I already own Minecraft. When I click the install button there, it's unresponsive.

When I try to install it from the Xbox app, I receive a new error code:1x00000001.

I'm unable to try other accounts at this point since I can't even install the game anymore.

I have bought minecraft v1.2.11 windows pc edition but cannot unlock it on another home device I own . After downloading, installing it when I try to unlock full game it give the above error code and says "Looks like you already own this" "Go to my games
or my library on your home device to download it. "PUR-UserAlreadyOwnsContent"
