    Hey I received a gift from a friend but cannot use/claim it as it was purchased from a different region, how would I go about getting it changed to be usable by me?

    Good day I’m interested in sending a gift to someone but they are in a different region can I gift a game from South Africa to Portugal using the game gifting system

    It sounds like your gamertag is set for a different region (country) than where you tried to download the item from. Some games are region locked and cannot be downloaded from a different region from which they were originally received. Sorry.

    Your friend would have to contact support for a refund and then rebuy it from somewhere where he can send one for your region. The gifting option is region locked and there is no way around that.
