    Received e-mail with 2019 renewal date


    After extending my XBOX Live Gold subscription with a 24-month code (ending 8/1/2019), I received an e-mail acknowledging the extension. Then I received another e-mail, as follows:

    "We're sending you this message to confirm that you have successfully renewed your Gold – 12 Month subscription on Thursday, August 01, 2019. Please retain a copy of this message for your records. Here is a description of the service: ..."

    Help me out here - how did I renew (past tense) my subscription on 8/1/2019? And, if I did happen to get another 12 months, shouldn't my account show a 2020 expiration?

    Account renewed when I said not to?

    also check to make sure your WLID is up-to-date. They often send you an e-mail 30 days warning of an auto-renewal.

    More information, found this in the XBL Terms of Use:

    "6.4 Automatic Renewal.

    We may automatically renew your Service (provided that automatic renewals are allowed in your country) at the then current price for the Service.
    We will inform you by e-mail prior to the renewal and remind you that your designated payment method will be billed. We will also provide you with instructions on how to cancel the Service. You must cancel the Service (see Section
    6.10 below) prior to the renewal date to avoid being billed for the renewal."

    Again, I did NOT receive any e-mail prior to renewal, only one that confirmed that my renewal had been completed.

    The e-mail was a promo to renew my Gold membership and if I did it by a certain date I received 800 extra points. I checked the details and the points weren't supposted to go in until the 15th of the following month. No points even today, so this is why
    the e-mail. Thanks.

    Sorry, e-mails and LIVE messages to this promotion have already been sent. If you didn't receive the e-mail and then received the message but deleted it, unfortunately there is no way to resend that message to you.

    You will now need to wait until this content is released to everyone in the coming months. There is no exact date.

    Yep you receive an e-mail when you choose to turn off automatic renewal. "Expiration Notification for Gold Family – 12 Month" -> Subject. Body -> Dear GAMERTAG HERE,

    Your subscription to Gold Family – 12 Month will expire on Tuesday, August 28, 2012. To avoid a possible interruption of your subscription service, please renew your subscription by Tuesday, August 28, 2012.

    That's the e-mail you get to your e-mail ~3 minutes after you speak with an XBOX Live Representative telling them you want to cancel auto renewal. Easiest 5 minutes phone call ever. They also give you a service request number in case you want to call back
    about that same issue. So there is your proof right there that you canceled the account, if there's an error tell them to look into that support inquiry. Clearly if you got the e-mail you have a date on there of when it was canceled you'd get that same one
    or something similar to that with Gold Family being Gold Membership, but I guess you don't have that on the date that you're saying you canceled it.
