    Receipt required to redeem gift card??


    I humbly beseech the powers that be at Microsoft to change the gift card redemption process.

    Requiring a store printed receipt with a 25 digit code is bordering on ridiculous.

    If that receipt is lost, becomes illegible, or is otherwise unavailable then your gift card isn't worth the paper it's printed on.

    Microsoft support has no way of overcoming this limitation.

    Other gaming companies, Roblox for example, make it easy with a scratch off code to reveal a PIN. So easy, so foolproof.

    Most gift cards do not require a receipt, only the code on them

    Be Careful when Purchasing Xbox Digital Games via in-store card purchase

    Story to hear you lost your receipt and cannot redeem your card, please remember jumping over to playstation wouldn't fair any better as with all cards now days you need to keep the receipt whichever platform you decide to buy a gift cards with.

    And on my receipt it specifically says:

    Special note for digital gift card customers: You can cancel your gift card order and receive a refund up to 14 days after your digital gift card has been sent or until your gift card has been redeemed, whichever occurs first.
