    Rebooted my original XBOX One, signed in to my MS account and profile and achievements are gone


    I recently attempted updating my gen 1 xbox one and got the black screen of death. After trying all the so called 'fixes' I ended up rebooting my xbox while choosing to keep games and apps.

    I followed the prompts and singed in with my Microsoft account, only to find I have some generic gamertag and 0 achievements!

    I tried "creating new" user with the same MS account but that didn't work.

    My question is: How do I get my profile back? My Gamertag (Prinnydood6408) and my achievements?

    I don't understand how this happened, but I hope there is way to fix this.

    Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

    It is very likely that you used another email for your Xbox account. I recommend checking all the emails you used. With the gamertag it is not possible to know your account email.

    Hello Sammy,

    I am sure I am using the correct Microsoft Account and Password.

    Is there a way to reset passwords on old accounts? I have an old account I made back in mid 2000's I could try instead but do not remember the password.

    How to recover my Xbox Live profile?

    Basically you can have a Microsoft (MS) account without having a Xbox profile attached to it. But you can not have an Xbox profile without having a MS account on the Xbox Ones. On the 360s you could have local profiles that were only attached to that console.
    Assuming you had an email and password attached to this xbox profile then it was attached to a MS account.

    There is two ways for a MS account to get a Xbox profile attached to it and this is done automatically

    1. Signing into any Xbox console.

    2. Signing into account.xbox.com



    If a Xbox profile is not already attached to the MS account when you sign into either one of these places the system will automatically generate a gamertag for that account and attaches that Xbox profile to that MS account.
