    Hi - I have an Xbox account, which I barely use however my son has been using it, gaining progress in games, downloading DLC etc. Now he's older, he has his own Xbox account (and email address), which is a managed family account, but doesn't have the game progress, DLC, purchases etc. Is there a way to reassign my Xbox account to him?

    I realise I'll need a new Xbox account (not a problem), but I need to retain access to 'my' email address, used for other Microsoft things, eg Office 365 subscription, OneDrive etc. Is the Xbox account separate to the other Microsoft things? What I need to avoid is (a) having to use 'my' email address for my son's Xbox account and (b) losing access to other Microsoft services associated with my email address. Is this possible?

    Hello there!

    Unfortunately there is not a way for you to transfer the progress and DLC from one account to the other, especially progress. However, you can try setting up your account as his home console on his Xbox so that you can share the games and some DLC that is allowed to be shared.

    The Xbox account and the Microsoft account are forever tied together. There is no way around this other than for one of you to start over with a new account.

    OK, we only have the one Xbox, and it is 'my' come console, so that's not going to make a difference? I think what I need to know is if I for example change the email address for my Xbox account to my sons email address, does that (a) make it 'his' Xbox account and (b) affect my other Microsoft services, eg 365 etc?

    your profile might still be assigned to the dead controller. Try going to to settings and select the accessories . Reassign your new controller to your profile.
