Reasons to buy an Xbox One

I bought the Xbox One for the controller, I cannot stand the 'baby hand' PS controllers lol. But all seriousness, like many other have said go with the games. And I am addicted to Titanfall! I cannot stop playing it, so fun, smooth, hectic but controllable
and awesome, get it!!!

I would buy the ps4 first because it is and will always be the stronger console. You will also have access to better exclusives (as it stands right now). All of the multiplatform games perform better on the ps4 (FACT).

However if you're into surfing television with ease (using your voice), like skype, and generally just want to use your console for media-type things the Xbox 1 is for you.

Some quick pros of the X1

- Outstanding controller battery life

- You can get the Titanfall bundle for as cheap as $450

- The Kinect (when it works) is truly revolutionary)

- Great current game line-up arguably stronger than what the ps4 has going, although it's catching up fast.

My favorite Titles for the X1: Dead Rising 3, Ryse, Forza - I would have gotten Titanfall because I love that game but I got *** at them for dropping the price and bought it for PC instead. So I'd still highly recommend picking that title up also.

The PS4 pros

-Superior Gaming Hardware (facts)

-Better intuitive Controller (touchpad, built in headset support, rechargeable all out of the box - the same functionality from the x1 controller will cost you $40 extra) but it does have a short battery life ~6 hours

-The Apps are actually better on the PS4 at least the ones that matter; Netflix, Amazon Prime, just to name a few. I thought this was untrue for the longest time until I actually downloaded them for my ps4 and started using them.

-Game lineup is getting better: The new Infamous SS is probably the best looking Next gen game right now.

-All of the multiplatform games look better @ higher resolution and frames on the ps4

-PS Plus is about the same for multiplayer as Xbox Live, but it's about 3 times the value I've gotten about 70 dollars worth of free high rated indie games since I started it and a few AAA titles on my ps3 (some would argue they're indie, but most of the
indie titles got higher review ratings then most x1 games).

Mutual between the consoles:

-Both consoles are well-made and keep themselves plenty cool enough to run for hours (although the ps4 runs louder and hotter in my opinion).

-Both controllers are really awesome this time around. I still like the offset joystick approach of the x1, however.

-Some say the x1 is larger, but the ps4 has an odd footprint too in my opinion - I also don't like the angular approach. Not to mention the ps4 does indeed wobble when sitting horizontally. So both have odd design choices. I also think the internal power
supply for the ps4 saves a lot of room where the x1 is included with a huge powerbrick, but at least it's shiny.

I wish I could be more positive and really recommend the x1, but there's simply no reason to have it unless you're wanting its TV features. Even Titanfall won't be exclusive to it next time so unless they release something other than Halo and Gears you're
better off with the ps4.

2 better graphics will come eventually with dx12

3 in my opinion the controller is better as well as the game selection.

You should buy whichever console has the games you want.

As for graphics the PS4 is better but not a ton

 

I had a PS4 first but I traded it in to Gamestop for $412.50 when they were offering 50% bonuses and got an Xbox One. For me PS4 was just a boring console to own. Xbox One has the better exclusives like Titanfall, future Halo and Gears games, Quantum Break,
Sunset Overdrive among others. The better controller by far, I hated the triggers on the DS4. The snap features are also addictive to use once you get used to it if you multitask a lot.

If having slightly inferior multiplats kills your enjoyment of games than by all means get a PS4 but I don't even notice a difference in the multiplats and I don't think anyone else does either unless they break every pixel down with fanboy glasses.

 

I'm on the fence, do I buy xbox one or PS4?

Sony seem to have many more software teams than Microsoft.

Also take a game like Metal Gear V. 720p on PS3, xbox 360 &xbox one. 1080p on PS4. 1080p has more than double the pixels of 720p. I saw some comparisons on Konamis site, the difference is night and day. And I hear this is on many games.

So I guess PS4 is the more "future proof" of the 2.

@titan your only here to troll please stop. Everybody knows there are more studios associated to ms as sony has just closed all of theirs lol. If they truly had all these software teams why is Microsoft the biggest software producer in the world ?

 

Let's face it true gamers will need both platforms in time... I've gone X1 first this time and I'm yet to regret it... It's pretty slick OS and getting better.... In isolation you won't really notice the multiplat difference... It's only when you jump on
a ps 4 and you go... Hmmm this looks pretty damn good... But often your thinking the same thing on X1...

If you do intend to get both in time it's an easier decision. As of today the X1 has better exclusives no question...

It seems to feel like a more premium product build wise too... Just feels like your money has been well spent... Kinect feels like its a $100+ product if only there was something more compelling than 1080p skype and party chat to do with it.....

 

Indie developers don't count which Sony include in their numbers.

But lets get back on topic with regards games and reasons to buy an Xbox One

Which lists a whole bunch, including 30 odd exclusives (with the likes of ryse, forza, dead rising, titanfall, halo in my opinion some of the best, I am also including Microsoft exclusives and times as this is a choice between Xbox and Ps4)

Yeah I have, as you may of noticed, deleted a bunch of unnecessary posts to keep the threads on track.

The indie list is pretty good. I am not a huge indie player but some off that list will make it onto my HDD I have to admit

 

@f00xm4n Honestly, from that list I just see alot of mediocre first party teams. when it comes to first party studios, Sony's are much better than microsoft's. Also with the ps4 leading in sales this gen, microsoft will find it much more harder and more
expensive to moneyhat third party devs this gen, so they won't be able to rely on third party games as much as last gen. Also it might give microsoft the incentive to start creating brilliant first party games.

 

I am looking forward to many of the indie games coming to gold, on the one. That would be cool

I guess we will have to agree to disagree, as I think the opposite; that Microsoft makes the better first party games, I love the indie games like knack etc but just prefer the all out budget busters Microsoft can back, like the titanfalls and halo's of
the world.
