Hi guys. I've had my TV, a Sony Bravia KD55XD8005 for over a year now and I can't for the life of me get a picture I'm happy with on my Xbox One X. The colours just don't seem right and HDR games look grey and washed out. Despite
me having all green ticks in the settings section.

I'm constantly resetting the TV settings and trying to configure it again. I'm not normally bothered too much, in fact I normally just leave a TV on its default settings so I know somethings not right.

When I reset the TVs video settings to default the picture looks dull, so if I switch the picture mode to vivid all non-hdr content looks ok on the Xbox. However as soon as I load something like FIFA, Forza Horizon 3 or PUBG the
picture looks terrible and dull again.

I know its not the best TV but I can’t understand how enabling HDR makes the picture much worse. I’ve tried various setting guides and tips but nothing seems to work. So I’ve disabled HDR at the moment.

I have enabled ‘Enhanced HMDI’ on the TV, I’ve tried swapping HMDI inputs, firmware is up to date, I’m using the original cable that came with the Xbox. I’ve just run out of things to try.

So this is my last hope, can anyone help or provide any settings that have worked for them. Thanks guys.

Xbox One X HDR + Samsung KS8000 = Terrible Image Quality

Hello!

I am the proud owner of a new Xbox One X Scorpio Edition and have it attached to my 55" Samsung KS8000. I've gotten some games installed and while Diablo 3 looks AMAZING in 4K, my games that support HDR look terrible. I have tried
both Battlefield 1 and Assassins Creed Origins. As soon as the games start, the image slowly darkens and washes out. Colors are muted. Blacks are grays. They look terrible. I have messed with the TV settings, turning things like Smart LED off and Dynamic
Contrast to high, and nothing works. They continue to look terrible. I've been messing around with various settings all night and I am at my wits end.

The TV officially supports HDR 10 from what I can see online.

I am using the included HDMI cable.

I am connected to HDMI 1.

The Xbox video settings have green checks by all the bells and whistles.

I have HDR enabled on the TV for the input I am using.

I am using the "standard" picture mode on the TV.

In both games, I adjust the brightness or the HDR sliders and it only minimally changes the picture. No improvement at all.

Does anyone have any suggestions or settings I can try? I really want to appreciate the X in app its splendor, but at this point I am just about to disable HDR and pretend it doesnt exist. ;-)

Looking for a 4K tv to work with Xbox one s

One major issue to look out for is that on a lot of 4K HDR TVs when using HDR the input lag is very high and therefore terrible for gaming, a lot of TVs won't even recognise HDR content in game mode!!

The best/fastest thing to try would be to try a HDMI 2.2 cable.

I was going to go for the UH850v because of it's Super UHD, but it falls behind in ratings and tests for gaming and HDR compared to the TV I am getting, Sony's 49XD8088. Check www.uk.rtings.com for reviews and tests. The site is American, but the TV's are
all identical apart from name to the ones in the UK.

SPARTAN, I can manage a 2.5 KD and 3+ WL, 400+ skill, 410 SPM in a MUCH tougher game (BF3), but I get owned in CoD? Is that a joke? I'm really good at CoD, it's just that it sucks, and it caters to terrible players like yourself.

Same problem here... With my Sony Bravia x90e (KD-55XE9005).

All is checked with a green mark the the video setting of the console (4k, HDR, etc.).

The correct HDMI input is used on the TV and the enhanced feature is activated (to allow 4k and HDR)

My TV activate de HDR logo during HDR content... But for some reason all HDR contents look washed out.

It is like the console send a picture for HDR that is not processed ...

The black levels and colors are far better with the HDR option deactivated in console.

I have no HDR problems with internal apps of the tv or with the PS4.

I am actuallygetting really good picture and framerate using the monitor's maxxed out settings. Sure my PC gets a better picture and can play at the full 1440p 144Hz. I'm currently using Freesync, 1440p, 60Hz, Maxed monitor frame rate and latency reduction
settings, full HDR color and the picture is beautiful on Xbox with really good color and low latency. I believe I've found a "compromise" I can live with with the Xbox One X but this still is a frustrating development after spending $500 on the new monitor.
