Really Strange Problem No One Seems To Have!

Ok so I have a really odd problem with the Xbox One console itself.
And I cannot find any reference to it anywhere.
So I am posting here before calling support. And here is the problem:

This just started yesterday…I have never seen it happen before.
After I turn it off it blinks about 10 times or before shutting down.
At some point after time passes (Idk how exactly how much time) if I turn it back on, the screen is really dim.
The home screen is up and everything including the controller seems to be working….just I can barely see anything.
The effect reminds me very much of what happens if I leave it onscreen without doing anything for a few minutes:
the tv will automatically dim itself. But everytime in the past when that occurs I just do something with the controller and the screen lights back up.
In this case, fooling with the either the tv remote or controller does nothing.



Now you are probably thinking about the tv settings themselves and I have checked them.
And nothing has changed.
I have also used the “reset to factory defaults” and that does nothing.
And I can simply switch to the component (where the 360 is) or just a broadcast channel and the brightness in normal.
I have also just switched the One’s hdmi cord to the other 3 ports with the same exact effect occurring.
So I don’t think the problem is within the tv itself:
it is either in the console or the cord.

Now the good news is, strangely enough I can fix it:
I just simply turn the console off again and immediately turn it back on and…poof!
It lights up normally. The only real difference here is that when I immediately shut it down the console blink twice and cuts off.
It seems like it would usually blink 10 or more times before shutting.



Any ideas why this is happening?

This problem is kind of a strange one that no one really has a definitive answer for. To me it seems the problem is not on your side but on the side of Microsoft. The one thing that i have found that really helps this problem more often then not is power-cycling
your router. Please give it a try and let me know the results-thanks

 

Xbox 360 Youtube App Upload Feed Problem

Strange it mustn't have been on my end as the problem seems to have been fixed now...very strange...

 

Hey yeah I'm having the same thing it's weird isn't idk what it is it scared me the first time I thought my TV was dead

 

I am having the same issue. A quick reset and it is back to normal. I tried to do a hard reset, and even unplugged my xbox for 5 minutes hoping this would fix the problem permanently but it still occurs every now and then and it is quite annoying.

So, sorry to hear you guys are having these issues. Have you tried replacing your HDMI cables. Sometimes the data transferred through the cable get's lost. AKA allowing it to input wrong information that would dim the video it also would make it occasionally
load up with a green filter.

Well..something has fixed it: late Sunday afternoon the power went down while I was gone. When I returned I powered it up and the screen brightness was normal and still is. Idk how an outage would have cured the problem but it did.
