Really Microsoft?! (added on)

I feel it is a bit silly that Microsoft requires I should buy a new Minecraft download just because I have a new console, that is regardless of how cheap it is. I got my Minecraft download quite soon to selling my Xbox 360 for the newer console just
last week. Before I sold the console it did not cross my mind to worry about my Minecraft game simply because the whole reason I purchased the downloadable game rather than the disc version is so I would not have to worry about issues in the future that normally accompanies game discs,
such as region codes, compatibility, and most especially so I knew the game was on my account and could be easily accessed in the case of replacing my Xbox 360. Then I got the Xbox One and was completely mind-blown by the inconsideration of Microsoft.
Why should I pay money to buy Minecraft when I already own it. It's not like it isn't still on the list of games on my Microsoft account, because it is. And that is probably the most astounding part of this. I am literally looking at it on the Xbox account
website and a customer service agent is asking me to BUY IT. It not like I am paying for anything except for a bigger map. Besides every other update for the Minecraft Xbox One edition excluding the bigger map size would have been added as always on the Xbox
360 console if the Xbox One was not made yet (Minecraft was constantly updated on the Xbox 360) and the Xbox One even still, is missing many of the elements in the PC edition of Minecraft. Plus it is not my fault that the Xbox 360 system's GPU was not powerful
enough to support the bigger game map. So why am I buying another Minecraft game? Why didn't a company like Microsoft take something this simple into consideration when releasing the Xbox One? I am thoroughly surprised. At least refund my money towards purchasing
the new edition, don't just leave my still playable game sitting there on my account page knowing I'm never going to get to use it again.

I agree, it should be free if you had the 360 edition. I bought it on 360 too at first. Although i had to spend another $5 for the xbox one edition, at least i didnt have to repurchase the add-ons again.

 

Well, 4J Studios spent time/man hours to make the game for the Xbox One. I, personally, think they should be compensated for the time they spent to make the game, as well as for all the time they put in to continually update it.

If you've purchased the Xbox 360 version, as you say you have, the discounted $4.99 price tag is more than fair.

 

You owned the 360 version of minecraft.

You have to pay for the xbox one version because it's a different version. Might be the same base game but it's had to be re-programmed for a totally different machine requiring time and money. The 360 and x1 are totally different machines with different
hardware and not compatible with each other.

You can't expect 4J studios to spend their time and money making the game for totally different hardware and not getting paid for it.

They are a business not a charity. Their staff need to be paid.
