Really getting out of hand! Lol.

A friend of mine called today and wanted do some gaming. We were deciding on which game...Killer Instinct? Nope! (I'm already over my cap for the 17Gb patch.). Borderlands 2? Negative! (Needs a 1528Mb patch...on his connection would take over 2 hours.).
G.T.A. 5? Ain't going to happen! (Still way over my cap for a 5 Gb patch.). Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel? Are they kidding? (Both in unison after finding out about the 7.7Gb patch.). Think the only games I own that don't need updates is Forza 5 and Tomb Raider
on the X Box.

We went to the hobby shop to look at new R.C. helicopters/planes, then out to lunch; good times!

Hey there fellow gamer, I get the frustration of live going down and all. But preventing ddos attacks is impossible (thats like trying to prevent cancer)theres no warning signs of when it will happen or how many will take place, Its commonn for technology
that relies on the internet to function. In short your frustration iss shared by many but few options on how to prevent it.

Is worth noting that the server issues with The Division were due to the influx of users playing the game at the same time, not because of DDoS attacks

Secondly the servers aren't with Microsoft, but with the developers of the game. So you would have to go to them with any feedback regarding the servers, as MS cannot do anything

Can't blame them really as the price for poker is constantely on the rise, while the chips needed to play this game called 'life' even before it hits the table, has mountains of debt already attached to it .

Data Cap's are garbage. I have no caps on anything I own other than beer bottles. Cell Phone? Unlimited. High Speed Broadband Internet? Unlimited. D33dles you really need to switch ISP. That is garbage my friend.

 

I live in the US and I'm not capped, I think it's more a matter of you get what you pay for....

I have a friend who's capped at 60GB a month but he only pays 14.99 and I think he's 20/5 down/up. I'm not capped at 300/50 but paying 70 bucks a month. I don't know if our prices are high or low compared to other countries for the same plans but we have
options in my area.

I assume there are places in the US that don't have the infrastructure to offer uncapped plans or the faster speeds but capping isn't the norm. Even attempts at throttling meet with huge backlash in my area.

I pay $90.00 a month...it's the best I can get. Was thinking about getting satellite on top of what I have now, just for downloads at night, but they switched that up too. They used to offer unlimited between 1a.m.-7a.m., though now it's 50Gb a month. My
phone used to be unlimited...that changed when I upgraded. Of course they gave me the option of paying the full $600.00 for the phone to keep the unlimited, though 2Gb seems to pull me though the month on that. Lol.

Now my girlfriend pays around $40.00 a month for 7Mb/1.5Mb AT&T D.S.L. (Much slower than mine/150Gb cap.), but she has the option for more speed and bigger cap. Left to her own devices, she would barely use 10Gb a month; I'm the one that blows though her
data! Lol.

Maybe I should just quit being a data hog? Lmao.

I get what you're saying with the large updates and your internet cap I used to have one too. But if you're really over it you shouldn't be playing any multiplayer

 

Multi-player doesn't seem to use a lot of bandwidth...last time I checked, playing C.O.D. or Borderlands would only use up about 200Mb for about 4-5 hours of play (Destiny I hear uses quite a bit). It's Netflix/Vudu that eats it up.

My house pays only NZ $109 per month for 100mb down 10mb up UNLIMITED Fibre cable which includes landline and freeview with VODAFONE NZ.

 

I would gladly pay $109.00 a month for that! Moving to New Zealand would be a little more of a commute to work than what I would like.
