Really Disappointed with Microsoft/Xbox per Controller Broken LB

Shortly a year after purchasing my Xbox One and a second controller, both left bumpers broke one after the other. Not abuse related whatsoever, just normal wear and tear. I use bumper jumper in games.

I decided to contact Xbox support hoping they would repair the controller (ideally for free), or for a small cost, since it's just a small broken plastic piece. No luck. The representative, Leroy, was really helpful and definitely tried to help. Unfortunately
controllers only have a 3 month warranty, and the hardware division wouldn't OK a replacement. There was no repair option.

I requested to speak to a supervisor, April, who was just terrible. She did not seem to care about the issue whatsoever. Basically suck it up and spent another $120 on 2 controllers that are more than likely to have the same issue sooner or later. She
said you already went through the process and no luck. Despite it being no fault of my own.

I've been an Xbox guy for about 10 years, and the 360 was good. I had RRoD, but a free refurbished replacement still works. The controllers lasted. A year after purchasing the One I'm stuck with 2 almost unplayable controllers or spending another $120.

It's glad to know Xbox really cares (cue sarcasm). I just couldn't me more disappointed in the outcome. They design a faulty controller and leave the consumer on the hook for it. It's really tough to be supportive of Xbox and recommend them to friends
when this is what you get. I've got a friend who was considering an Xbox One S for Christmas. Now I'm going to try and talk him out of it. If anyone else feels the same as I do, please voice your displeasure.

Xbox one Elite Controller defekt

Hallo, ich habe November letzten Jahres einen Xbox One Elite Controller gekauft, bei dem nun die "RB" und "LB" tasten defekt sind. da ich keine Console besitze kann ich den Controller nicht normal registrieren und zur Reperatur einschicken. Wie kann ich
diesen Controller Microsoft zur Reperatur/zum Austausch zu kommen lassen?

I know what you mean. I repaired my controllers with a few YouTube videos but the best way to go about it is with a good retail store like Walmart or Target. They offer a 2 yr warranty and I use that thing every other month. Sooner or later it will catch
up with Microsoft but for now use the retailer to put advantage

 

Thanks for the feedback. A quick google shows what a widespread problem this is. Plenty of Reddit posts and youtube repair videos. They're really leaving the consumer hanging on this. It's a poorly designed and manufactured piece of hardware. I'll probably
try the YouTube repair instead of forking them more money for another faulty controller. The 2 year warranty is really the way to go. Wish I knew before.

They want you to spend $60 for basically a $2 if that new piece of plastic. I looked up PlayStation 4 controllers and apparently Sony is really good about repairing those when issues arise. If only Microsoft appreciated its customer base as much...
