REALLY bad download speeds on Xbox One

    Hi everyone,

So I'm stuck with a bit of confusion right now. I recently upgraded my fibre line from 20/20 to 100/100. Speeds are great and all, but my downloads on my Xbox One are horrific! This is also on a wired connection using an IPV6 cable that goes from my Xbox
directly to the router. I'm based in South Africa, but I don't see how that would be an issue since we have local servers here.

So say if I'm downloading an update right now, for Gears 5, I'm only getting between 4-6mbps. I initially thought it might be me, so I ran some tests. See below:

    - I tested the write speed on my external. I plugged in a brand new Hard Drive and tried to install a game I previously deleted and I'm still getting really bad speeds.
    - Ran several speed tests on my PC and Xbox. On PC I get the full 100/100 on local servers with 2ms ping. On international servers, I get about 80/60 with about 160ms ping.

    - Done a speed test on my Xbox One and the speeds I got were 100 down and 42 up. 0% packet loss and a latency of 102 ms. MTU is 1480.

    - Nat type is set to open

    - Done traceroutes as well and ping tests to see if I get packet losses and I get none

I'm absolutely stumped. I tried every way to see where the bottleneck is and it doesn't seem to be coming from my side at all!

Would anybody be able to help with this?

    Thanks!

    :)

REALLY bad download speeds on Xbox One

    Hi there,

Thanks for the response! I am currently having no games running in the background. The console is just on and in the updates menu.

I've reconnected my network as well and also done multiple resets on the console.

It looks like I have to contact Xbox Support for this, but thank you for the help!
    Ok, no worries!

As long as you don't play (or download from other devices on your net) it should be fine. Try check speedtests during various time of the day just to have more indications.

When you're playing a game on Xbox One, background downloads/updates are slower because the bandwith is directed towards the game you're playing. Try reconnecting to the network again and restarting your console, and if the issue still persists, reset your
    console, or contact Xbox Support.
