    Troubleshooting Apartment Complex Internet

    Here is the TL;DR version of my question: Will the "Error Status Report" help me narrow down between an UPnP, and Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) issue?

    My apartment complex supplies internet as part of the lease terms. While this is a nice cost savings, I've had significant connection issues for xbox live. I've been trying to narrow down exactly what the issue is.

    I can usually connect to live, but then get kicked when I connect to a game/netflix/etc., terrible latency issues as well. I also have had terrible latency and connection issues when I connect to game servers with my PC. Normally I would blame this on poor
    DSL, but for many other things I have a 1MB/sec+ connection.

    Did you mistyped your subnet mask (255.255.240.0)? Your IP (starts with 10) is a class A network and your subnet mask is a class B network.

    Do you live in an apartment complex or have other people living close by? It could have been coming from a nearby gamer doing gaming things with the volume up way too loud.

    The apartment complex has the provider subscription & charges the renter if they choose to use it. If I remember, most router/modem units come with download cd. Can the cd be run thru the Xbox 360 since I don't have a PC?
