Real solutions to slander?

Here's the deal, so I'm apparently the subject of the smear campaign of someone with alot of smurfs, who's doing a bunch of damage to my gamertag via my actual reputation. I blocked him, but he still got me banned for two days(took that long to reverse) I have screenshots of the libel, and the reversal of my ban, but even though I've blocked him, apparently now my friends are hearing about me from random people in LFG. My real friends know me better than alot of these people, but it's Def against the TOS to do this to people. I just don't know how to fight a community that is flaky enough to believe things with no evidence posting absolute lies in LFG and poisoning what reputation I have, not alot of people knew me until now, and it has affected my mental state to feel this helpless. I've reported and am relatively sure two of these smurfs got banned, even after his reports were used to ban me in a way that was exploitative. It's still clearly happening, and I would appreciate actual advice as to what I should do here. Please don't tell me to continue reporting, I'm aware of it and plan on that, and please don't ask me to call the police. It isn't a crime it's a civil issue. If there's anyone I can talk to, or anything that could help outside of that. I'd appreciate you.

That is not acceptable to us than it was to you to be feel that way and what they did to you is no good. This is not the experience that Microsoft wishes you to have and this kind of scenarios is best to be addressed by the Reinforcement Team. They can investigate your case with the help of the information you will share to them.

Slander and Defamation is a CIVIL matter, not a criminal matter. ALSO, Slander and Defamation can only occur if the slander and defamation was A) Made in Public, usually the media in some form, and B) You use REAL names........

Since you have an "anonymous" Gamertag, and the "accusations were NOT made on a public media source, then you have ZERO basis for any kind of lawsuit.

Also, There is ZERO chance you you being able to subpeona MS for the chat messages.

It's protecting everyone, actually. If claims went through on forums, what would stop people from slandering people they just don't agree with and getting them banned under no real reason? Just report them through their profile if they happen upon you in
game and move on.

I get you Jetsfan, thanks. I don't fear for my life. He's almost definitely one of those online/Internet tough guys that hide behind the anonymity of Live. I just don't feel like this kind of behavior should be tolerated. Xbox Live used to be a great
and friendly place to have fun/play the games we all love. It's not like that anymore. Now most games are dead silent because people don't want to use their mic's and be subjected to any of that nonsense.

Yeah I realize I could just not use my mic also, but if any of you were around when Live first launched, you would know what a shame it is that we lost that sense of fun and community. Even on forums like these, there are those who just can't help themselves
and attack/insult people at every turn. It would be nice if the new xbox1/ps4 sharing or DVR also records player chat if you choose. That would make it easy to provide MS with proof and then we would see if they really do care about separating the "jerks"
(their word) from the people who are gaming to have a good time.

I did contact MS and they told me to file a complaint. Obviously I did, but it was in game chat. They won't know what was said. Then they told me to complain on EA's forums since it was during their game. This person was sick and disgusting and should
at the very least be banned from Live. Unfortunately, The person I spoke to at MS said something like "I can't stop people from being jerks". So you just let them then? Nice. I'll bet thus new policy on XB1 is just as worthless as on 360. I was kind of
shocked really. I thought if they knew somebody took it that far, they would take immediate action. Very sad. I'm paying $60 a year for this now?
