Real False Advertising (XB1)

If you go back and watch any of the initial launch, pre-launch, or E3 videos there's no SNAP APP Loading. No little swirling circle when anyone states an xbox command starting any apps, skype, tv, friends list, achievements ect.

Now, I upgraded when the Kinect got dropped, So I don't have one. One of my biggest disappointments is the speeds the XB1 runs at compared to the 360... Particularly msgs, chat, friendslistings ect.

Anyone with a Kinect that still uses care to comment? Does your dash magically perform better then those without just like in the pre-launch vids? It's rumored to be something MS is working to address this issue, but it does look highly suspect if you
back and watch any of those videos.

This is sad news. False advertising?

Hopefully EA releases another game, they are real heart budgets, not for the faint of heart lol.

 

After 3 months of owning X1 I am extremely happy I got one.

@Wanorios......... for real???? This is why there are so many "X1 fail" threads.... it is not MS fault... its yours..... where is the false advertising??? Please explain what you did not understand??

 

UI sluggishness is something everybody suffers from, whether one has a Kinect or not. Voice commands are indeed useful and help you navigate through the dashboard faster but its use besides that is limited.

 

If memory serves, and for what it's worth.

Eurogamer reported a while back that M freed up more processing cores for game developers that were originally alocated for X1's UI.

So its possible that what you saw at E3, and are seeing now is the direct results of said actions.

 

Are you quitting out of apps that you've closed? Having a bunch of apps still running in the background will always slow things down.

 

"compared to the 360..." if your Xbox One is slower than the 360 i'd be worried

 

I have no issues, amd do not believe for one second it was false advertising.

 

I second what Eggnogga has said, it's really easy to have a lot of apps open without knowing it, especially if you use the auto-on feature. I once had upload, achievements, games and apps, game marketplace, help centre plus more open and my UI was ridiculously
slow, close them all and went back to being very fast and responsive.

 

You gonna be surprised about E3.

If having multiple apps open at once is whats causing the problem, that just sounds like a caching issue, they could fix that with software updates.

The problem with people posting about there slow UI etc, is everybody has a different view on whats considered slow. From the sounds of it some people on the forums still think there systems are massively slow and clunky, were as i think mine runs like a
dream, only issues i've ever had have been from update previews.

 

I neither have a bunch of apps open or closed. I'm just saying there is a distinct difference in what was shown in any pre-launch video, launch or advertising currently compare to the actual operation of the XB1.

Anyone with a Ps3 and a 360 knows exactly what I'm talking about. The 360 punched up core functions (friends lists,achies,msgs,ect.) instantly. The PS3 had a delay and a little swirly when you moved around in the Dash.

Now the XB1 does the same thing, and this is never shown.

 

To be fair everything looks better in the advert, ever bought a burger from McDonald's? bet it didn't look as good as the one in the window

Everybody seems to have a different experience. just tried launching some apps, messages was basically instant, friends list took at most 3 seconds, not slow enough to seem unreasonable, in my opinion.

 

Regardless of perspectives the Xbox one system and UI is A LOT slower than advertised and it's gotten A LOT worse since launch.

I won't say false advertising because they changed too much before we got our hands on the system..but that's another topic

 

My Xbox One is extremely snappy. I tell it to snap and it's instantly snapped. Very quick.
