Ready to Install infinite loading on Rock Band 4

Hello,

The other day i was forced to remove all 2400+ add-ons/Songs for Rock Band 4 as i was constantly harassed with updating “almost every song”. If i updated it would close my game and kick me to the home screen.

The problem now is trying to install all 2400+ add-ons back on the game. When i go to manage games, Ready to Install there is an infinite loading symbol and after about 10-15 minutes its completely blank and my songs don’t show.

I’ve never encountered this issue before.

I play Rock Band 4 on two Xbox’s (Xbox One & Xbox One X), so i use my account on both consoles.

I’ve tried all the standard quick fixes, hard rebooting, unplugging and deleting my profile/adding my profile on my console.

When i go on other games though the Ready to Install loads other add-ons, it’s just Rock Band 4 that seems to be affected.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Apparently this problem is spreading to all DLC for anyone in the Insider program. I am in it for my X but not my S, and I use the S for RB4. Could potentially be a side effect of a bigger problem, hoping MS figures this out.

I’m sorry to hear that.

I’m glad it’s not just me as i was starting to think i was the only one.

I managed to get all my songs back eventually, but not through the Ready To Install section, that still doesn’t work for me on Rock Band 4.

Luckily i had 2000 installed on an old external HDD that i forgot all about, so only had to install a few hundred manually which wasn’t to bad.

I hope there’s some more info on this issue later on as it does seem this problem isn’t on MS radar at the moment.

Thats the problem. The spinning icon stops and none of the tracks load.

When i re-downloaded my songs 6 months ago. 2300 add-on’s loaded in under a couple of minutes.

Something is seriously wrong here and i have no way of fixing it myself.

Are you trying to reinstall all those songs on your console or a external hard drive?

Thanks for updating us with your reply. As the soft factory reset (leaving games & apps installed) didn't work to stop the onslaught of requests for song updates, there may be another troubleshooting step to try that may actually have results. I'm
fairly familiar with the situation that you're experiencing, as I experienced it myself quite recently as well with Rock Band 4.

I recommend that you try
uninstalling the entirety of Rock Band 4, plus the add-ons, then reinstalling it completely to see if that alleviates the issue of the constant request to update every single song in your catalogue.

Press the Xbox button to open the guide, then select
My games & apps > See all.
When you’ve highlighted the game, press the Menu button.
Select Manage game & add-ons, then choose Uninstall all.

Yes, it is a lot of stuff to uninstall/reinstall; however, it should alleviate the issue as everything will install and update fresh to your console and you shouldn't get bounced back to the home screen each time it asks to update or cancel the next song.

Give this a try and let us know the results.
