Ready for VR? Get Ready to Pay!

Discus and support Ready for VR? Get Ready to Pay! in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; I was just reading something that says you can adjust the Rift to fit any size pair of glass so you don't need to get contacts. Discussion in 'XBoX on Consoles' started by Jena Makarov, Jan 9, 2016.

No, sod treadmills lol. I'd just like the feeling of being in the world of GTA and being face to face with people... I don't want to do real walking/running, that stuff is for real life.

Anyone see the Gadget show when they did Battlefield VR with a gun that worked like a controller and a a kind of 360 degree treadmill so you could pivot etc, good set up but a bit mental for me. I'm happy in a chair, besides how you gonna find your beer
    if you can't see it??

  5. Well, as the history of consumer video electronics illustrates, prices will be astronomical until porn makes its first appearance, and then prices will start dropping like stocks in China.

@Genchy, it was very cool indeed, but it had flaws, like he couldn't run, but i would love a gaming room that did it, not sure I would like the cost though.

Problem that i see with Oculus,is that i don't see no use except for first person. It would be weird to use it to play Ori & the blind forest,or even a TPS....

For me,it's like a racing wheel.Nice but too limited....

    Maybe,for FPS fanatics.

The point was that you don't necessarily need to experience something to know it is bad.

The point I made was that the games they have at the moment for VR don't need VR. Can you really say that a third person platformer couldn't be played on a television?

It's like Kinect at the moment. Games might be "Better With VR" but they aren't games that wouldn't be great without it.

VR needs a game where the VR headset is essential.

Tell the truth now... you tried it and decided you didn't like it because of "virtually" shooting yourself in the foot after 1 too many. XD

If anyone is interested this is a you tube video of the gadget shows battlefield simulator

Remember this was done in 2011, but when you see the setup you'll see why it wasn't open to the public, how big it was, and so so so much how I would love a go even to shoot myself in the foot.

(I bet that treadmill is amazing now)

I don't need a VR rig to virtually shoot myself in the foot Blue! @Davey yea agreed I would like a blast on that, looked good fun.

So basically said companies VR headset will probably end up being even more expensive than the Oculus Rift.

    $399 / £349.
