Ready for the destiny hype to die already...

I'm not really sure how to feel about the game yet. It's definitely a beautiful game and it's a lot of fun, in regards to playing. But I also have to admit I feel a little like Rand has stated.

I think what I'm missing is cinematics... I mean, I have a ghost (Hello to the new Cortana, which I don't mean in a bad way) that has been the major character so far. Sorry, but it's no Cortana. Not that I expect it to be, but he feels more like a glorified GPS
than a guide of sorts. The 'Speaker' seems to be the NPC that one would typically think is supposed to be an important influence / character, since he's supposed to speak for the Traveler. Yet I've only had 1 short meeting with him and he did little more than
tell me what I already knew. On top of that, he is also a vendor that you can approach to buy certain items from... which for me, actually detracts from what he could have been.

Most of the other characters you meet in the Tower seem to be a bit devoid of personality. DGMW, I'm not bored out of my mind, I'm having fun and (I haven't gotten to the first 'strike mission' yet, but I'm close) it's probably a bit early in the game yet...
but it does seem a bit shallow for being hyped as such an epic story.

I'm not going to condemn the game though. I think it has potential. I'm just hoping that it doesn't remain untapped... but time will tell I guess. At least it should be fun playing until we see just how deep the story goes.

 

Well, if what I just read is true, I'm definitely never getting Destiny. Someone posted that there is a 100 point per week cap on how many points you can earn for the vanguard system. Between that and forcing co-op down our throats, Bungie can go to hell.
I spent enough time on Reach not earning credits because of their stupid cap and stopped playing Halo 4 when I found out about the one on there. Why should MY progress be limited when i'm actually playing legit just so some *** with 2 jobs can keep up!?!?

 

It is a better buy than Watch_Dogs was when it released. Destiny is a glorified Halo, nothing more.

 

I don't think you should compare a game to others - judge it based upon its own merits.

 

I hit the halo reach cap and went past it once it was unlocked

 

Moon Strike.

That was insane. Our fireteam struggled to even enter the rooom with the boss.

Got him in the end but took some time.

 

I need a team for stuff like this

 

I drove 2 friends out of a moon mission today because they kept dying over and over again spending an hour+ trying to take down the boss on hard difficulty. The irony was that it must have been scaled, because once they left, even when the enemy boss was
at nearly full health, I took it down on my own in about 2-5 minutes.

 

Yes it is scaled.

It's lived up to my expectations and even surpassed them!! I love it, so addicted it's scary.
