Ready for Halo 5?

If you think about it, Cortana's troubles started all the way back to Halo 2 when captured by the Gravemind. Certainly since Halo 3 she's never quite been the same. Result of rampancy, being infected or both? ...or something else?

Thought the Legendary cut-scene after the credits was interesting.

As others have said, I like where 343 is taking this...

The way she explained it in Halo 4 (unless I'm mistaken) her rampancy was due to her lifespan coming to an end. More on it"

Rampancy is a terminal state of being for Artificial intelligence constructs, in which the AI "develops delusions of godlike power," as well as utter contempt for its mentally inferior makers.[1] When rampancy occurs, the AI becomes very unstable and can

For some of the UNSC's more advanced Smart artificial intelligence, rampancy is an unavoidable flaw inherent in their creation. Smart artificial intelligences are based on the neural patterns of a human being, and they have a limited lifespan of seven years

Doc has the right of the rampancy issue. It's a known issue for AI's in the Halo universe.

Should I say *Halo 4 spoiler*?

Just after MC crashes to the surface of Requiem, Cortana starts having more noticeable issues. Chief asks her (again) what is wrong. She says "It's nothing, just the crash". To which Chief replies "Cortana... something was wrong before we left the Dawn".

At which point Cortana realizes she can't hide it any longer and tells him: "I was put into service 8 years ago". Chief: "8 years"? Cortana: "AI's deteriorate after 7, Chief".

 

Hmm... Just found out that despite the fact that I don't like Warzone in multiplayer, I never actually tried Warzone Assault.. Go figure. ><

im back on halo 5 after taking a short break to playthrough black ops 3 campaign doing a legendary co op playthrough and i love the game even more now after playing black ops 3 how people can compare the two blows my mind halo 5 really is a gem

 

Still playing it,everyday....

But don't. have much to say....just that i'm enjoying it.

(since that i was. completely wrong about. Halo. Guardians,i stopped speculating and keep. things. for myself)

Haha, you didn't kill the thread Doc, I just stopped posting as I had stopped playing and didn't want to discuss anything further for fear of spoiling it for others! I'm going to try and go back to it this weekend.
