Reading dvds

    Hi,

    The optical drive in the Xbox One contains two lasers, one for reading DVD discs and another to read Blu-rays. If DVD movies BC Xbox 360 can no longer be read, but Xbox One games (which use BD discs) and Blu-ray movie discs work, your drive has a hardware
    fault.

    The only options you have a either set up a repair with Microsoft or buy a new console.

    Just dvds. Haven't tried a blu ray as we don't own any.

    My Xbox One S doesn't play DVD but plays Blu ray disc just fine.

    You have to use ORIGINAL DVD (movies concert dvd series etc) It doesn't read amatorial dvd

    Hi,

    Have you tried DVD movie discs? DVD Movie discs are DVD-9 format, the same as 360 discs.

    If the Xbox One can't read these either then I'm afraid your console needs a repair as the laser that reads DVD's has failed.
