can you please help me to get my headset and adapter back, ANYONE

Sadly I am having the exact same problem with 2 Xbox One controllers (both are Day1's) along with the stereo headset adapter.

It has the same behaviour with both. Shows updated until I plug my headset adapter in and it will show update required but it will only make it up to 70% (once usually lower) then re-attempt and show "There was a problem updating your controller".

I looked at my headset adapter and it shows part number :050614

Guess I need to contact MS about getting a part replacement.

Make sure your controller has fresh batteries. When the batteries get weak, some controller functions, such as audio and rumble, are turned off to conserve the remaining power. Make sure your
headset adapter is firmly plugged into your controller and that your stereo headset’s 3.5mm cable is securely plugged into the adapter. You’ll know it’s plugged in properly if you press the mute button and the LED lights up. Try
your headset with another device, such as a laptop, to see if the headset is working. If not, the headset will need to be replaced. To order a replacement, go to Device
Services. Try your headset and adapter on another controller. If the headset works on the second controller, try updating
the first controller again. If that fails, the controller will need to be replaced. To order a replacement, see Request

Thanks for the reply. I'm sorry to hear about the issue with a headset and sound. To help clarify, are you seeing a mute icon on your homepage when the headset is connected?

I recommend to try this:

• Try your Xbox One Stereo Headset with another device, such as a laptop, to see if the headset is working. If not, the headset will need to be replaced. To order a replacement, go to the
  Xbox Online Service Center.
• Try your Stereo Headset and Stereo Headset Adapter on another controller, if you can.
  
• If the headset works on the second controller, try
  updating the first controlleragain.
  
• If that fails, the controller will need to be replaced. To order a replacement, go to the
  Xbox Online Service Center.
