    Re-purchasing Owned Content


    Hi! Currently Rockstar Games is offering 150% bonus on Shark Cards thru April 15. Microsoft is having a Spring Sale that lists the Grand Theft Auto Premium Edition & Megalodon Shark Card Bundle at $36. A Megalodon Shark Card normally costs $100 and gives the user $8M in game, but with both of the ongoing sales combined I should be able to get the Megalodon Shark Card for $36 and get $20M in game.

    I know this is unusual, but I wanted to purchase the same content again, specifically the Grand Theft Auto Premium Edition & Megalodon Shark Card Bundle, but I cannot because I've previously purchased it. I understand this is done to prevent people from accidentally purchasing the same item twice, but I would like to do so purposely.

    Since I was being denied in-store, I thought it might work to "gift" the content to myself. The Microsoft Store did not detect that the recipient email was the same as my account's so I assumed it would be okay and bought the content as a "gift" sent to myself. When I went to redeem the code, I was met with the error message from before telling me that I already owned the content.

    Is there any way to get around this? I honestly just want the Megalodon Shark Card at the lower price while the bonus event is going on.

    Can I have my purchase history edited to "trick" the system into thinking I dont already own the content?

    If there's no way around it, could I get a refund?

    Unfortunately the game still wants be to re purchase the content that i already own. I have been onto Xbox support who have checked and confirmed that i purchased the game but so far im still asked to re purchase the content. Xbox support have passed my
    issue to the accounts advocacy team to see if they can sort the issue

    As long as you're using the account that purchased the content, you should be able to re-download the content any time you wish. If you're not sure that your account owns the content though. You can verify your purchase by checking; commerce.microsoft.com
    and clicking on "payment & billing" and "order history".

    After another thought, if you go to xbox.com and log in with one of the accounts, then browse the store you should be able to see if the content has already been purchased which should mean that account owns the content.

    If a game is deleted you should be able to re-download the title providing the owning account does it or it is set tot heir home console.

    You won't be able to purchase anything on your own console, you'd need to go to any console that has the beta dashboard already. Once you've made your purchase you can head back to your own console and use your download history to re-download that content
    to your console. It's a slight inconvenience, but that's the only work around for the time being.

    You can try, but it is an issue with the account migration that is part of the warning before you migrate an account.

    Q: Will I be able to re-download purchased content after migration?

    A: Our goal is to allow members to re-download all of their purchased content after migrating accounts, and we're actively working to address this. However, at this point in time, once you migrate you will no longer be able to re-download content. Members
    should re-download purchased content to their hard drive or USB flash drive prior to migrating.
