Re-Purchasing DLC

Hey guys,

So I've been having this issue for a little over two years now but recently it has become completely game breaking. I have all three Mass Effect games for Xbox 360, I have the physical disc for the games and I've downloaded all of the DLC that expanded the
games and added extra characters, this was way back when we were all using microsoft points to purchase stuff. When I was originally playing through Mass Effect 1 through 3, I had terrible internet so I always played offline and all my DLC functioned fine,
after a few months into ME3 I would get a pop-up message telling me that my DLC for my games (Both Dragon Age games released at this point as well) was corrupt or missing and that I would have to download it again. When I would check my hard drive the DLC
would be there and when I connected to the internet the issue would be solved, no pop-up messages, no problems while playing (unless my internet disconnected mid game), no need to delete and re-download anything. I got sick of my games becoming 'Online Only'
pretty quick though so I did delete and re-download all the apparently 'missing/corrupted' files and that did fix it (intermittently)... until now.

Today I tried to play Mass Effect 2 and 3 while connected to Xbox Live and both seemed to think that I had missing or corrupted files, ME2 specifically named the Arrival DLC as the culprit (and this could be effecting ME3 maybe), this wouldn't be a problem
because I could just delete and re-download it but when I went to the DLC section of ME2, Microsoft wanted to charge me $6.95 for DLC that I already own, is on my hard drive and that I bought for 500+ Microsoft points years ago and I don't think that's fair.
This could be a Bioware thing in that DA:O and DA2 are doing the same thing but how can I be the only one affected? I have a similar problem with Perfect Dark because ever since I bought and downloaded the Xbox Arcade game, it always switches to a 'Demo Version'
when I'm offline but full game when I'm online. I will be switching back to a smaller data plan soon to save money (especially if I have to buy all my DLC again!) and when that happens I won't be able to have the luxury of connecting to Xbox Live to play games
that should be able to be played offline 100% of the time or downloading 700 to 1000 MB files every time I want to play, offline or otherwise.

Has anyone else run into this issue? Is there a fix that doesn't involve me repurchasing my DLC/Games?

I believe you should be able to play with both at once, however I may be mistaken, so don't take this as written in stone or anything like that.

Purchasing gamertag buys DLC on Xbox A. Purchasing gamertag re-downloads it on Xbox B and plays there, while non-purchasing gamertag plays on Xbox A.

 

Instead of downloading it from the store, try downloading it from your download history on your Xbox 360. If that doesn't work try it on the Xbox website. I've never had anything be corrupt but I have had Microsoft try to charge me money for dlc again. For
me, downloading this way always worked.

You could also try redownloading your profile. And if you have another hard drive try installing everything for those games on that.

 

It sounds like a licensing issue. You would need to do a license transfer, then re-download all your games and dlc (each download would take about 2-3 secs, as it's just the license you would get). Once you have done that, then you shouldn't have any issues
playing your games and dlc offline. To do a license transfer, you go to settings - account - license transfer, then follow the instructions from there.

 

Thanks for the answers guys. In short, transferring the licenses seems to have fixed my Perfect Dark issue but not the DLC for Mas Effect 2, I cannot find any record of downloading or purchasing the Arrival DLC but it's on my 360, I've checked the other
two Live accounts on my console and neither of them have downloaded it nor would they have had any need to do so and I remember downloading it myself. I am hesitant to delete anything but if there is no way around having to re-purchase the content anyway then
all I'm really doing is putting off the inevitable.
