Re-linking Child Account to Parent Account

Hi forum - first post here.

Lately my 12 year old son has been unable to access Fifa Ultimate Team (FIFA14) play via Xbox Live. Browsing the EA Sports forums suggested that there was an age restriction that might be blocking him. Whilst I was trying to investigate whether or not
this was the case I stupidly disabled my Xbox 360 account (parent) from being able to control my son's (child) Xbox settings. I don't know how to reverse this. Now my son is unable to access Xbox Live at all - when he attempts to connect to Xbox Live the
message appears that the Parent Account details are invalid. I've spent a day trying to sort it out but had no joy. Given the amount of game information associated with my son's account I'm loathe to just create a new one and have him start from scratch.
I don't mind creating a new parent account if that is any use as I don't really have any saved data that matters to me. Any advice other than not to mess where I shouldn't have. I do think a stronger warning was in order - like "Disabling this will bork
your kid's access to Xbox Live and earn you no end of grief from the annoyed offspring".

Suggestions greatly appreciated.

Unable to add son to xbox one

As above,

Select child
Sign in as parent
get to the 50c card authorisation, add card details
Then get card already exists on account - go through screens - again!!

Then after about 10 minutes updating account it fails with code 45468.7036976521340.5055251569016685

Go to xbox errorhelp - can't find it

Can anybody help please we are pulling our hair out on this

Just to say the card is on account from xbox and also Microsoft accounts linked to the parents account!

Thanks. That makes sense. How or where are the parental guardian relationships set up and maintained?

If you have tried for a whole day to fix this problem, I would suggest that you should call Xbox Support or chat with them online. They can take you through all the steps you need and talk to you about what you may have enabled to mess up the account.

They are very helpful and will take you through step by step!

I appreciate you taking the time to answer. Funnily enough I had done just as you suggested once I had found the post below (see link if links are allowed). This describes my exact problem. The chap I spoke to gave a good impression of sounding like he
was following me - he checked out my son's account and confirmed that it was not associated with my parent account. I was told I would have to wait up to 10 days for a fix. That leaves 4 days to go as I have heard nothing. If it isn't fixed I'm just going
to create a full privilege 18+ account for my 12 year old lad and have done with it. Microsoft are not making it easy to look after his account and given that I have a Master's Degree in Information Technology it's not like I'm a complete noob.

Well... I continued to hear nothing and made no progress of my own so I decided to delete my son's account and start from scratch. Intruigingly I could not cancel the automatic renewal of the Gold subscription (just kept triggering a server error) so I
contacted XBox Support again to ask them to do it. The Support Analyst (Jay) was excellent and whilst we discussed my request I filled him in on the back story. It turns out that the first analyst had made a bit of a mess of my email address, so that's why
I never heard anything after my first call. We discussed options and I decided to give it another go. Delighted that less than 10 days after the second call not only is my son's account linked to mine again, it also seems to have thrown off it's problem
with EA Sports so he is currently glued to the XBox just as he should be. Kudos to MS XBox Support (and Jay).
