RE-external hd leads etc question

brothers got 2 living rooms...so him and mrs can watch different........over xmas we watched a movie ( wedding movie or other non copyrighted stuff )---------------ANYWAY, he went into other room and grabbed the "PASSPORT/EXTERNAL HDD", and said it was
annoying moving the xbox one everytime they wanna watch the wedding video,, as the HDD iwont work withe tv"" or bluray" i want to buy him the correct accessory..so the console can stay in room one and still play vids from the HDD usb???--dongle???--adaptor???--.............please
note before answering the toater idea" didnt work!! fool me once shame on you---fool me 7 or more times

I have one question.. does an american external HD works perfectly in a european console?

External Hardrive

I need to ask a question about using an External Hard drives for Xbox One it says more than 256 GB or higher but what you see in the stores like Game Stop others are 2 GB HD but if you need a 256 GB or higher how can a 2 GB HD work then ?

Second question: during updates do those go to your system HD or to the Default External HD ?

What you probably need to do is to leave the hard drive attached to a PC and use a DLNA client to access it with the Xbox. However that still probably won't help in the other room unless there is a device hooked up to it that will work as a DLNA client to
access the hard drive on the PC.

Quick question, is that external HD recognized on another device like a PC etc?

how can it be the correct hard drive if it is 60GB and you have it connected externally with a hd lead?

Hi AyeYaya,

It sounds that the external HD may have gotten corrupted causing the Xbox One to shutdown since you are able to use the console fine without the external HD plugged in.

Do you happen to have another external HD that meets the requirements for testing purposes? Or would you happen to be able to try that HD on another Xbox?

You may need to delete what you have on there, re-format the HD for the Xbox One, and then download what you had on there again.
