Re-downloaded Xbox Live Profile, Lost all saves and achievements.

Hi there!

So I've spent the last couple of days trying to fix my live account since I had the error code:
831188FE whenever I tried to sign into my account. I followed the instructions on the support page here: Error 831188FE | Xbox 360 Connection Error
and did everything correctly. I had already done step 1 the day before, then I followed the next steps (making sure to delete Profile only). Once I had re-downloaded my profile again I was able to log in alright. However, I've now noticed
that all of my saves, progress and achievements have all disappeared. I have no idea why this would happen. I'd really appreciate some help as to what I did wrong or how I can recover my saves and achievements.

Error code 80151015

Not if you select 'profile only' as that leaves all your games and save data etc. Your achievements are saved on this website so make sure you have connected to xbox live before deleting your profile to ensure the most current version is re-downloaded.

Saves and profiles are all cloud based this time around: it's all synced automatically to the internet. Just log both machines into your profile, and your game saves should sync without even having to think about it (assuming they're both connected to Xbox Live). Download your games to both consoles too and it should all work as smooth as.

Hey there,

Were you by any chance playing those games offline before you tried to sign-in? If the profile was deleted from the Xbox 360 console while there were achievements earned offline, and the profile wasn't connected online to sync that information up, that may
explain the achievements disappearing. Additionally, do you see your game saves listed within the Xbox 360 storage settings under your profile? If there isn't any information there, unfortunately your game saves may not be able to be recovered.

We do recommend trying to remove and re-add your Xbox Live profile again to see if that corrects the save issue, but if the option 'Delete Profile and Items' was selected on accident, there is no way to recover the data I'm afraid.

I've always played games while online, so that wouldn't have been an issue. Unfortunately though, there was no information for any game saves in storage, so I'm afraid that the saves are probably gone. I've decided to take this opportunity to create a new
account however, so that I can change my username, so I suppose not all bad came from this.

Hey Sincrad, sorry to hear about your Gamerscore! Okay, so it sounds like you didn't have LIVE for about a year, correct? If so, and if you had to re-download your profile when you re-connected to LIVE, then I'm afraid those achievements would have been
lost. You can earn achievements online and reconnect to LIVE to have them added to your account, but if you re-download your profile before they're uploaded, I'm afraid they will be lost.

Hey Head, you can certainly try re-downloading your profile. To provide a little context. achievements earned offline can be lost if an account is recovered before it has a chance to simply re-connect to LIVE again. So, if you had earned any achievements
offline before recovering your profile, it's possible they may have been lost in that initial download. If this is the case, the only solution will be to re-earn them.
