    So I've been trying to play red dead redemption 2 offline for 2 days now. I have internet at specific times during the day on my Xbox one, the internet works just fine because I play a few online games from day to day or just at least start it up to let stuff update. I still live with my parents and even tho I'm 22yrs old, they still have these "internet off" times -,-. But that's not exactly my issue because playing offline is no problem.

    My internet turns off at 21.30 every day, but as I said I pretty much let my xbox run when I do have internet to either play online or check for updates.

    A few weeks back I could play rdr2 while I still had internet (so before 21.30) and I wouldn't even notice when the internet went off, I could just continue playing. Now the last few days, when I play rdr2 (and ive tested other games, it's literally only rdr2) at 21.30 the game just shuts down and I go to Xbox home. When I try to restart it tells me I need to check my connection because the game possibly has to update, but quite obviously it doesn't actually need to update because I would've seen that when I had internet.

    What I've done so far to try and fix it:

    - well, restart the game which obviously doesn't work

    - set my Xbox to offline

    - restart Xbox by pressing the power button for a few seconds

    - turning off xbox and plug it out

    - this xbox is set as my home xbox so that shouldn't be the issue

    None of those worked.

    Does anyone know why this happens and if there's a way for me to enjoy playing it offline as well, because now two days in a row I got thrown out in the middle of a mission which is just quite frustrating and I just like to play till late in the weekends.

    Just done reinstalling, I first started the game with internet on, so it could sync the save files. Went offline after it loaded up to see if reinstalling solved the problem, and it unfortunately didn't. Still says I need to check internet connection because the game might need an update. Error code is 0x87dd001a, I tried looking up on more ways to fix this specific but none have worked so far, plus I only have this pro with rdr2 which makes it even more difficult to search on ways to fix it.

    I was trying to avoid the whole uninstall/reinstall thing, since, well, Red dead redemption takes up 123gb and it's probably going to take me all day with my "internet breaks" my parents set.

    But I guess I'm going to try that tomorrow because it's still not working offline, still says there might be an update but there's none.

    Hope it's going to be worth it!

    I researched the error code you provided me and here is what I found relating to that error code. Error 0x87dd001a occurs when you try to use your Xbox console. My best suggestion to you is that you file a bug and by filing that bug it allows our team to see if others have experienced the same issue with Red Dead redemption 2. Because if your other games are working and it's only this specific title, then it may be a bug we need to look into.
