    I was curious and plugged headphones in the jack on the back. it worked as a headphone jack but the sound is default. If you want it louder you need a headphone amp from radio shack or best buy. Oh in order for this to work you need to be using a H.D.M.I.

    3.5mm jack to RCA?

    Yes, if the regular headphones are getting sound from the headphone jack of the tv, the 3.5mm to RCA adapter should work for getting sound to your turtle beaches. You probably already checked for audio out RCA jacks on the back of the tv?
