    Razer Kraken Pro V2 USB Headset


    Hello all,

    I must be missing something blindingly obvious here in the settings menu, so apologies for having to post the question! I have a Razer Kraken Pro V2 USB gaming headset that I have used for gaming on my PC and PS4 for quite some time; it definitely works
    and isn't faulty. Having just bought an Xbox One X, I plug the headset in and nothing happens. Looking around in the settings menu, I can't seem to find the option to switch the audio output to a USB headset. Can someone tell me where I'm going wrong?

    Yes I have tried another controller. The headset is the Razer Kraken Pro V2, I shouldve included that sorry.

    Having looked into this a bit more over the day, it seems that despite being the king of the operating system and having (from what I can see) vastly snappier console operating environment than Sony has achieved with the PS4, Microsoft has not managed to
    add widespread USB headset support to the Xbox One in the 6 years since it was released. The PS4 has had it since release. Instead, I have to buy anothe Xbox One specific Razer Kraken headset that can plug into the controller using a proprietary connector,
    so that the audio can be compressed to nothing to be streamed wirelessly to the controller and then down a 3.5mm jack. To say I'm absolutely baffled is an understatement.

    Nope. Unfortunately there is no support for USB headset/microphone with Xbox. Some headsets do have a USB port, but these are Xbox compatible headsets. You will need to ensure you obtain a headset that is compatible with Xbox one. As you can see from the
    Razer site, the Razer Kraken is compatible with Xbox: https://support.razer.com/gaming-headsets-and-audio/razer-kraken-xbox-one/ but it
    appears the Kraken Ultimate is not compatible.
