Rattling noise with new console

    I purchased an XBOX One less than a month ago but it now makes a constant rattling noise. I'm thinking of taking it back to exchange for another but would this mean I lose the games I've downloaded from the store? Also my saved game progress?

    Hi Guys, long time no see!

    With BF3 round the corner, im quite peeved that my new Xbox 360 Slim is already making stupid noises.

    When a disc is spinning at full pelt, it is making this weird noise like something is loose and rattling.

    It makes the noise when you touch the console to, so i unplugged it and made a video of me poking the console -


    Can anyone please tell me if this is normal? or a common fault? (To me it sounds like the bearings in the cooling fan rattling)

    xbox 360 slim clicking/static noise

    You may try to change the position of your console and see if the noise is gone, sometimes dust caught in the fan can cause it to make rattling noise.

    You have several options:

    If your console is still in warranty, simply start a warranty repair/replacement process under
    https://devicesupport.microsoft.com.

    If it's out of warranty, and you're unwilling to pay the repair fee, you might have luck trying to get the item to the lower right of the console's casing. Turn the console off, and hold the console so, that the lower right edge of the console is at the
    bottom, and gently shake the console (flipping it around and upside down but in a way so that the right edge stays at the lowest position)

    If you managed to get the piece to the lower right edge, simply set the console down and hope for the best.

    Since this is an official Xbox forum, we can only advise against any self repair attempts.
