    on xbox.com i followed instructions on how to make my child account an adult account and i set it to adult, but when i go on the xbox on the childs account (because that's the one with gold), i cant download assassins creed 2 because i am not permitted to
    content with that rating. how do i change rating allowance? because i cant put gold on the parent account because i bought the gold subscription off of a card at the store

    It sounds like you set the default permissions. This does NOT change the account to an adult. The registered birthday (which cannot be changed) has to have reached adulthood for your region (such as 18 for the US and Canada). If it does not meet this condition,
    you cannot promote the account.

    You should be able to buy M rated games with a child account. You just cannot download the demos. If you want a demo, have your parent download it on their account. Demos are free!
