Rant

I have an original Xbox for Morrowind, Dungeons & Dragons, Gauntlet, Baldur's Gate,and other swords and sorcery RPGs. Xbox 360 for Two Worlds, Dragon's Dogma, old Witchers, Oldrim, and others. Xbox 1 for 4k versions of the same. I used to play Dungeon of
Doom and Citdatel of Blood tabletop RPG Boardgames with cardboard, pencis, and dice. Also the entire Lone Wolf series of paperback paragraph adventure books. I've come to prefer the electronic AI, on my TV, dice rolls handled by the CPU, style of RPG with
a 3D world instead of a flat cardboard map, and animated characters instead of miniature figurines that I have to pick up and move by hand. But this doesn't make me think of myself as a video gamer. I'm an RPGer. I will never play any more racing games, mascot
games, shooters, space games, or whatever no matter how excellent they may be. So I post this in the hope that the industryy market gurus will see the potential to win over the millions of boardgamers out there to electrify their gaming by moving up to Xbox
or PC. To try to broaden

the appeal of Skyrim by having Banjo Kazooie bears or dragons on snowboards dilutes the purity of RPG experience. We need a party-based ( single player + AI Bot NPC ) open-ended (no main quest) immersive sandbox SIMULATION to do RPGing right. I hope the
current trend of one-size-fits-all watered-down dumbed-down RPGs can be reversed. Kingdom Come and the Wild Hunt seem to have the right idea but need the non-cutscene-driven smoothness of Elder Scrolls.
